I don't consider Pau to be a soft punk, he can hold his own at Center this season and be a ferocious force. He can defend people, he's not bad enough to warrant that title.

Yeah I don't see how Pau is "soft." That's a stigma he'll never shake I guess...

He's not a bruiser, he's not gonna overwhelm you with strength, but with his performance last year in the postseason, holding his own against a very physical team and against the Spurs, I don't see how he's a "soft punk."

Can Dirk play Center as good as Pau? I'm doubting that.

"0" games won B.K. + his finals performace a year ago = shhhhhhhhhhhhhhoftness

let me remind you that I called dirk out on his softness a couple of years ago and u tried to defend him...................I know softness when I see it........it oozes out a person like a big glob of goo.........current soft players in the NBA

Tmac, Dirk, Gasol, Odom, Yao, KG (yes he's a softie despite the growling), Vince Carter, Jermaine O'Neal, etc.

I define softness as players who are mentally and/or physically weak.........that can't be relied on to lead the way and who ultimately fold under pressure........................

Not much different than Dirk's association with horrendous defense, people see a player mess up in an area of their game, and continue to cite those references without knowing if they have changed or improved upon said weaknesses

at least that's what i see a lot of, not saying thedreams argument is like that in anyway

I think you constantly confuse Finesse with softness, and TMac is quite a special case. Don't taint us with his name. :[ Pau has been a freaking monster since Drew went down, his offense is amazing, his defense competent. He's playing differently now or I've just had a much better platform to watch Pau compared to before, or others here at S2.

Pau held Tim Duncan, a career 51% shooter to 43% in the WCF. That has to account for something at least. He doesn't back down.

Pau played KG nice in the Finals as well. Limited him to so many jumpshots and a lame version of the high post stuff he usually runs.

When Pau is focused, he isn't a horrible, soft pussy on defense everyone thinks he is. He can actually D up pretty well.

It isn't just KG he's locked up, Lost One touched on it as have the others.

I'm in love with Pau right now, his game is as complete as ever.

Pau also didn't get punked against Utah, who many consider one of the toughest teams in the league. Not to mention dominating the Nuggets (not that it really matters, Nuggets sucks)

    I'm torn. :(

I guess it just comes down to Dirk not being in his prime anymore, and how well Pau fits with the Lakers especially if Bynum is out like he is now.
