Agree with Mamba here, best player in the universe, and he's shown why since Bynum went down.

One of the best read I've seen lately. All those haters should read this and think again.

Man its going to suck when he is done. I dont know about the rest of you but he is my first "favorite player". When I was young there were other guys I liked but I didnt watch them like I watch Kobe. I didnt understand the game enough to appreciate them the way I appreciate Kobe now. The guy is super-human as a basketball player. No other star saves the day like he continually does. Not that he doesnt have bad games and not finish well at times but we all know when the clock gets low, and every other player on the court gets nervous and starts to shake that more often than not, Kobe will come through. We all made great choices when we choose to ride with Kobe and the Lakers. I don't think anyone is ever going to do it like this again. Lebron James may one day be great and considered better than Kobe but only because of his stats. He will never have that "it" factor. Atleast not the "it" that Kobe has. I can't speak for anyone but myself but I don't think I'll ever enjoy the game as much as I do now after he leaves. I'm going to enjoy this.

I don't think Kobe's stats are inferior if it came down to just that; he sacrificed stats to feed Shaq before and get rings. With his polished game and great awareness defensively when he needs it, his prime is as good or better than any other perimeter player currently playing. He's amazing at the end of the game because he can carry a team from any position on the court, and not have to worry about being fouled or where he wants to shoot from if the lane is clogged up.
