Just a little blurb from a Toronto blog:

    LINK

What's interesting is Wheels mentioned the other day on his radio show that he thinks the Blazers are going after Rudy Gay (and not Amare). Could there be something to this?

If so, I love Chris Wallace. I would assume untouchables are Roy, Rudy, LMA, and Oden. I'm not sure if Memphis would want Bayless with Mayo in the back court...they'd probably want someone more like sergio...Sergio and Marc Gasol connection. Outlaw would probably be gone as would the RELC and probably one or two other guys.

If we can get them for parts, I would be all over it. Rudy Gay is the fucking champ.

nm, we'd have to do some crazy salary matching to make it work....if it happens, I say Rudy and Sergio are gone.

    Checked ESPN Trade Checker,

Sergio, Rudy and Outlaw for Conley and Gay.

Addition by subtraction. I'd do it I think.

I like Rudy Gay, but I can't give up on Rudy Fernandez yet!

its not giving up, its trading him for one of the best young SFs in the game. Rudy is a career bench guy on the blazers in all likelyhood. Gay is a starter.

If we could just do GAy that would be awesome. Bayless is better than Conley, and so is Blake. And I think Bayless will forever be better than Conley. But I'd def trade Rudy and even Batum for Gay along with Outlaw and whoever outside of the core-4.

I would love a lineup of Bayless, Roy, Gay, Aldridge and Oden... damn... bench of... Blake, Rudy, Batum/Webster, Outlaw, Pryz or whoever we don't trade.

I love Rudy Fernandez, but if it's gonna take him leaving to land Gay, you need to pull the trigger.

I assume any package would Make us also take on Marko Jaric.

as long as there's so much irrational gay love around here i have to keep harping on this. considering his reputation gay is one of the most overrated players in the entire league. he's a volume shooter who plays little perimeter defense, is an underacheiving rebounder, turns the ball over way too much, and hasn't shown anything resembling the leadership qualities a team's best player should. he's not better than outlaw right now, and batum may have just as much upside and is 2 1/2 years younger. gay would add very little that we don't already have, and he's gonna want a near-max deal in a year. considering it would take either aldridge (or something franchise-crippling like bayless/rudy/draft picks/take back bad contracts) to get him, he makes NO SENSE.

Wow. The overvalue of Travis Outlaw has now hit an all time high on this board.

you mean the overvalue of gay. i've watch him play 20+ games this year. he may have more upside but right now he's not a better all-around player or contributer than outlaw.

Outlaw isn't that great! He kicks ass 60% of the time on offense, and 20% of the time on defense.
    That's not even 100%!1111!1!!ONEONEoneone! lol

    18.8 /Reb 5.7 /Ast 1.7 are solid numbers from a 3rd year player.

This biggest difference between them is between the ears. Outlaw doesn't look to pass much and has fallen in love with the jumpshot. Gay would really help this team dictate the temp and stop the slow starts.

14.85 PER, .521 TS%, .093 rebound rate, 2.9 turnovers/game, -6 net on/offcourt are pretty crappy numbers for a player that would take major pieces to get and that will want a near-max extension this fall.

    that's debatable.

outlaw has a higher assist rate this year.

no more than starting rudy f. and having roy guard the SF would.

I'd include Rudy in a deal for Gay and Conley.

    Jesus Christ!

Does anyone here ever read other team pages or papers?

Rudy Gay is blasted because he won't play defense.

If you look at PER by position, SF is the weakest position on Memphis.

And before last nights debacle, Travis had a higher PER than Gay.

    Dear Chris Wallace:

Rudy Gay sucks. He's overrated and probably will never recover his top-notch prospect status.

    Yours truly,

    Ed O.

P.S. Please trade Rudy Gay to Portland immediately.
