It looks like I'll be heading to Lancaster University in October on exchange for a full year. Just wondering how heavy is the courseload? I heard somewhere it's 10 hours a week of classes? If so that's really light. Majority of my classes there will be business-related by the way. As for the fun aspect of school, what do ya kids do for fun there? Pubs/bars/clubs only or is there any action in the residence buildings?
I'm not sure if there are any English university-goers. Speaking on the activity part, clubs and pubs are usually the main hang-out areas. Usually universities have their own pub they call home.
Basically, if its a 3 year course you'll be out and out drunk for the 1st and 3rd years and will bust your ass in the 2nd, ENJOY!
That sucks then. I'm going to be in the equivalent of 2nd year there and thus will take mostly 200-level courses. I plan on traveling a lot as well, but if it's gonna be lots of work then I guess not as much as I wished.
Lancaster to London is a bit of a stretch but you should find some nice places to go. Definitely put Isle of White on your list!
Well apparently Lancaster is a 3 hour train ride away from London, and 7 hours from Paris. I'll definitely go to London, and mainland Europe as well, France, Holland, Italy, etc. Oh, and in England, most definitely going to catch a couple Reds games in Liverpool.
Oh yeah, for sure. I'm thinking of having a blog or something, or work out something with the school paper. I'm at Western btw.
