I seem to recall your active participation in hundreds of Sheed trade threads... I agree that they did seem pointless posts at the time STOMP
I know it was just a rookie/sophomore game, but Durant REALLY showed me something last night. Not to mention he had two pretty darned good games against the Blazers this year. That said, I still wouldn't trade Roy for him, though.
Sure, he played well, but it was an All-Star game. Yes, Durant is going to be great, but Roy has some things that you just don't see in most players. He's unique as well, and I think that scoring small forwards are a dime a dozen in this league.
You have a pretty low standard for "darned good" games then. Considering he shoots almost 50% from the floor (he shot 40%, including an 0fer from deep), he averages 7 boards and 3 assists a game, his "darn good" night consisted of him having a below shooting night, 5 points below his scoring average (after scoring 30+ in 5 straight games, and 6 out of 7)..and he had 3 turnovers that night. And he wasn't the reason why the Thunder were in the game for as long as they were. That'd be like saying Brandon Roy had a "pretty darn good game" against the Thunder, because he hit his averages.
Perhaps. The more I see of Durant, though, the more I think he's gonna be a "special" player in this league. So is Roy, for sure, for sure. I also happen to think that Rudy's gonna be somewhat special, as well. In fact, without Rudy on our team, I don't even consider such a thought.........................that is, of effectiively trading Roy for Durant. Nonetheless, it's all moot.....................simply fodder for discussion, then discarded accordingly.
What do you guys think about trying to get Jeff Green from OKC? He really impresses me and he seems to play a similar position to Durant.
Thabeet, lol. Greg Oden was a better player with one hand as a freshman than Thabeet is playing as a junior and completely healthy.
Man some of you have no loyalty to our players, quite sickening. He is OUR franchise guy, we stick with him. He has nearly single handily turned to the franchise around, you don't turn around and trade him. I know this is a business, but certain things (like this) are shady.
When it looked like we'd have the 6 pick in the Draft of Oden, I wanted Green a lot. I think he's an unspectacular 'glue' guy who learned to play the right way at G-town, is really smart with or without the ball, and a good kid. Oh yeah, and he's pretty talented, too.
OKC would laugh at Portland if they offered Roy for Durant. The thought of adding their first is beyond ridiculous. I doubt OKC would trade Durant for Roy and Aldridge, but I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.
