Ive always heard the saturday of nba weekend is the big trade talk day. yet not only are there no blazer rumors....theres nothing much about anyone making moves. with that said....they say the only deals you hear about are the ones that are dead....so who knows. also as far as the blazers second attempt at amare goes.... why is nobody else reporting it?????

anyway just seems quiet...which might mean big things????

btw.....cazano made up the ridnour/jefferson trade just to prove how quick everyones jumps on these rumors. hoopshype was the ginny pig

I didn't hear it but on a couple forums one being the Bulls forum on S2 it said Wilbon ESPN said Amare would be traded to the Bulls or Blazers tomorrow. I really don't believe we can get Amare without giving up LMA or at least adding Rudy to the trade but we will have to wait and see. I have a feeling if the Blazers are making a trade in the next 4 days it will be something we haven't even heard as a rumor.

it's quiet because the biggest trade talk involves the team hosting the game. wait till monday.

There is a surprize and a perfect example why I can't stand Canzano. All his shit is made up so that he is quoted on the Internet. That is my pet peave with the new age "journalists"

As for nobody else reporting on Portland/ Amare ............how about the local AZ paper?
    http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/2009/02/14/20090214porter0215.html

There has been speculation that a big change would be coming in the form of a trade involving forward Amaré Stoudemire. Chicago, Houston and Cleveland have been considered the likely trading partners, but a deal with Portland for guard Jerryd Bayless, a first-round draft pick and Raef LaFrentz's expiring, insurance-protected contract has been considered.

Any trade also would not happen until Monday, as the NBA does not want the Suns to act during All-Star weekend in its city.

I think the NBA doesn't want anything to be reported about Amare to after the All Star game. So, if there is talk about a trade it is on hold until the game is over. I just have that feeling Porter will be fired and Amare will end up staying in Phx.

I don't think Oden is hurt that bad. He even practice with the rookie team. I doubt the Blazers would let him practice with the team if he was hurt bad.

Bummer for Porter... Talk about being set up for failure. Hopefully he'll get a real chance with another team.

i doubt it too...but amare would be a hell of a replacement for oden

just saying you never know...odd that we got back in to the sweepstakes after oden gets hurt and it sounds like hes iffy for next week.

went fom just a bruise to chipped patella to iffy for next week. sounds like his days before micro fracure

I think all the NBA beat writers are caught up in the All-Star weekend. Rumors will heat up on Monday when the weekend festivities are over.

Mark Stein just mentioned on ESPN radio that he expects the Blazers to deal and we were targeting deals that would give us both a PG & SF.

"as far as the blazers second attempt at amare goes.... why is nobody else reporting it????? "

Well then you should have said "why is nobody reporting it again today" . Beside what the difference? If it's reported then it is reported. We don't need an update every hour. Just that there may have been some discussion.

because he knows there's a 3-way with bulls/blazers about to go down?

if so i predict something like this

    suns get raef/bayless/t.thomas/picks
    bulls get amare/outlaw
    deng/hinrich to us

works & makes some sense for each team

That's a brilliant idea. Trade a guy that's played a half a season for someone who plays absolutely no defense, and even better, is NOT a center.

He wasn't suggesting trading Oden for Amare, just that if Oden was out, Amare would replace him in our lineup for a while.

Aldridge would play C in that scenario imo, but I don't see that situation presenting itself.

Actually Amare is a dominant center offensively. Defensively? Much less so. But that's true at the 4, too.
