Honestly, the Horse addition was overrated. Skills challenge wasn't too impressive and the shooting challenge was nothing special. The 3 point challenge was low-scoring, but good cause it went to OT (would've been better if it wasn't a blowout there). The dunk contest was really good though. What do you guys think? Did you like tonight? I think it could have been better. Article I found summing it up for those who missed it: http://probuckets.blogspot.com/2009/02/second-night-of-all-star-weekend.html
Honestly I think everything about this years All-Star festivities sucked. I hope the actual game isn't the same
I thought there was a big let-down as well. So, I'm left here HOPING for a good All-Star game, but with what I've seen so far this weekend, I can't expect much. I was just about ready last night to turn off TNT and put on Xbox. haha
The worst competition I can remember. I think Nate Robinson brought a lot of energy to the dunk contest, but that's about it.
Yeah, the dunk contest really made up for the night by at least ending it on a somewhat positive note. And, honestly, the only thing Saturday will be remembered for and would've been remembered for regardless of what happened is the dunk contest.
Last year also had the revival of New Orleans type feel to it. Phoenix had a very down feeling cause the team sucked.
I've pretty much lost interest in these things. The entire AS weekend is a waste of time. Shooting stars is the absolute worst. WNBA players can fuck off, I'd rather turn the TV off and stare at the blank screen than watch WNBA players or old timers taking free throws.
I really lost interest in it last year and the only thing I watched fully was the dunk contest. For some reason I gave this year a shot and watched almost everything. The contests were all kind of bad, but I was surprisingly happy with the All-Star Game tonight.
