According to an article on realgm, the Spurs and the Nets have heated up their talks for Vince Carter. The Spurs would trade Roger Mason, George Hill, and others for Carter. Parker, Manu, Carter, Duncan? Interesting....
I would actually do that deal like that if I'm the Nets. George Hill has a bright future a head of him and Rodger Mason is one of he most underrated shooters in the league too. NJ is rebuilding right now and Carter isn't getting any younger.
Its not happening. Nets have to cut players and the only ones they can is swift and ager which they are not doing.
If Vince goes to the Spurs, your Lakers will have a very clear path to the Finals, since Vince will cause SA to selfdestruct.
pg: Parker sg: Finley sf: Carter pf: Duncan c: Bonner Sixth man: Manu ??? Doesn't look bad to me. But if you say so... Hopefully it evens out then and Amare goes to Cleveland. That way you guys can have a clear cut path to the Finals as well.
Do you just look at names or do you take playing styles and strengths/weaknesses into account when deciding if a player fits with a potential new team?
looks liek someone did their homework. nets have to waive 3 people before the deal is even done. not happening.
nets shouldnt do this trade. w/ devin and carter in the backcourt the nets arent far away from the east finals. yi was exploding before he got hurt, lopez is a promising rookie who's also a big that scores and mans the paint, only can get better. nets need a 20pt scoring big, not more wingplayers.
if yi can be a 17/7 type player, and they had a 20pt pf/c scorer, all they'd need is a deeper bench. right now the team prolly blow up if they dont make the playoffs.
Santy-Anny's cap situation is pretty nice for the 2010 summer. I don't know if they would really want to give that up for Carter.
thats what they'd need to do to get it to work. that's not the same as saying they are willing to do that.
