OK, so we are close to trades happening (or not) and I say we each make a prediction of what trade we think will happen, as exact as possible (for bragging rights).

    Here is mine
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cdsu7z

I think it will be Suns/Bulls/Blazers three team trade.

    Blazers trade:
    to Bulls - Channing Fry
to Suns - RLEC and Bayless
to Suns - Blazers 1st round pick
to Bulls - Blazers 2nd round pick X2

Blazers receive - Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich

    Suns trade:
    to Bulls - Amare

Suns receive Tyrus Thomas and RLEC and Bayless and Blazers 31

    Bulls trade:
    to Suns - Tyrus Thomas
to Blazers - Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich

Bulls receive: Amare and Frye and Blazers 2nd round pick X2

not much of a prediction but I bet we make a trade for a player way out of left field or very seldom talked about

Any trade? Or do the Blazers have to be involved?

This is really tough to nail down. I think the Portland/Chicago/Phoenix trade makes so much sense, but I have hard time guessing who the Portland players would be. I don't think Portland will trade Bayless in this deal. Outlaw would be the natural choice, but he is such an integral part of the off-the-court chemistry of this team.

Deng/Hinrich out; Amare in seems reasonable. But, how much does Phoenix want back in addition to RLEC? Webster would appear to have no value right now as there is no telling when (if) he will return. That leaves Bayless, Rudy and Outlaw as the only realistic throw ins. I'm just not sure that the Blazers want Deng/Hinrich enough to give up much more than RLEC.

My trade mirrors Minstrel's except I have Travis leaving rather than Martell and Sergio gets shipped to phoenix.

I'll be surprised if we move that many players during the season.

I doubt KP will trade Rudy while he's so popular with the fans.

I agree that it should certainly be part of the equation in KP's trade considerations, but KP wouldn't be doing his job properly if refused to trade Rudy solely because he makes the ladies swoon.

This looks like too much out to me.

Portland sends: RLEC, Rudy, Batum, Martell
    Portland receives: Deng and Hinrich

I also think Chicago won't give up Deng and Thomas for Amare.

    My hope is:

Portland gets: Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich
Phoenix gets: RLEC, Outlaw, Sergio, [add Batum or picks if needed]
    Chicago gets: Amare Stoudemire, IDEC

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't put much value on Webster. I didn't prior to the injury and I still don't. He's just a throw-in so that Chicago has someone to use at small forward in the future.

Deng is only a bit older than Batum and considerably better. I think Rudy is a perfectly reasonable evener, considering Portland gets Hinrich, too, who is a very solid starting point guard.

They'd be crazy not to. Deng is a very nice young player, but Thomas is basically an Outlaw-like player. Amare is a far better player. NBA history generally shows that the team getting the better player is the winner.

Chicago is getting the best player of the ones they're involved with (Amare is better than any player they send out). Portland is also getting the best player of the ones that they are involved with (Deng is better than any player they send out). The Suns are the team getting the lesser players, but that is their lot at this point.

At this point any trade with Chicago would be barely more than a lateral move. They just don't make sense as a trading partner.

That is utter nonsense. Both DENG and Hinrich are better than any of our non big three players. They would both fit into our culture very well. I'd be ecstatic if we could do a deal for either of them. If we were able to swing a deal for both of them I'd have to call in sick I'd be so excited.

Agreed- if we got both, we'd be a good perimeter defensive team once they got incorporated into our team.

I think a trade with Charlotte is most likely. There roster is a mess. I say REC/Batum for Wallace and Mohamed. That would be desired by both IMO.
