I don't think I'd want to get rid of Azubuike. You have a guy there shooting 47% from the field, 46% from 3 range, 79% from the freethrow line, a good rebounder, and can play any position from about 1.5 to 3.5. Unlike most of the other Warriors, he follows his own shots and often gets rewarded with putbacks. Like Biedrins, he doesn't do anything spectacularly well, but he is solid all around and goes about his business with a really low-key attitude. He has a toughness about him, both mentally and physically. I don't see him making a lot of amateur mistakes like throwing the ball to no one in the stands, catching the ball out of bounds, dribbling the ball off his own feet, or serially charging (a la Monta). He is third-best on the Warriors in turnovers per 48 minutes, behind Wright and Morrow and doesn't commit many dumb fouls.
I figure it's a pretty unpopular idea (Azubuike), but I'm sticking to it. I'd rather give the opportunity to Marco or Morrow.
Depends what he would yeild in a trade. I can't see any team giving us something that we would value more Azu. Some good teams might move a low pick and maybe a small expiring for him but I wouldn't trade him that quickly. If we got a good offer though I wouldn't be very sad to see him go. Competition is good anyway right?
If Azibuike was the kicker in a larger package trade to improve the team, than of course. He's not a superstar. But as far as modest, mid-level trades, there's no point. Actually, Azibuike would be someone we would be trying to trade for, not get rid of. If it was like Maggette+Brandan Wright+Azibuike+pick for Amare, well then of course! But all know that's not going to happen.
