It sounds reasonable trading Iverson for Billups.

I'm all for a deal that improves the team for the future...but not to make a little noise this year. I want this team built to contend for a title every year.

We already suggested this solution - he didn't go for it. But we can take a page from his book and just keep throwing it out there multiple times a day like he does with these piss-ant threads and, who knows, maybe one day . . .

    +1

We're not saying to stand pat just because the teams behind us are faltering. To the contrary, every true fan wants his/her team to succeed and do better. The bone most have to pick with this guy is that it's always the end of the fucking world with him and there's NEVER ANYTHING to be happy about - which is bullshit and likely a sad act to get attention.

That's a double edged sword - while I'm all for Mixum suffering . . . his suffering kills this board for the rest of us.

Meh, I think a majority of the fans on here would welcome a trade if it didn't comprimise our future, helped clear out logjams, and was a good value trade. I also think the majority of fans on here do not want to make a trade just for the sake of shaking things up because this is the 2nd year in a row our team is overachieving and as some of these rookies continue to develop, they will probably be better than most anyone we can get.

I would be perfectly happy if a trade wasn't made before the deadline but was made this summer when we can take back some cap. If KP feels the right deal isn't out there than I trust him. He hasn't led us astray yet, no matter what rumors and assumptions are made about him.

Is it overachieving if you do it 2 years in a row?

or could you say that we fell back to earth last year after a bunch of teams made trades to make themselves better, and we swapped Green for Wafer? Would've been nice to have Harris, or Kidd, or another veteran to help us not go from 5th in the playoff race to 10th. :dunno:

52 games into the season and were in the 4th spot in the West. Your not making the playoff garbage doesn't have anything to it. The way other playoff bound teams in our conference are losing to shitty teams doesn't do much to back your new troll bait. But go ahead keep repeating yourself.

and then you ignore the facts that we have layed about for you. Like Golden State's win over Boston at home. Teams go in slumps, its part of sports. Considering we've been in a slump and were still 4th in the West despite an injury to our starting PG is shows a lot about our team and a lot about how your just a gimmick poster that doesn't really give a shit about this team, just riling up the fans of it on a forum.

No, a weak response is yours to the fact that Mo Williams is an all-star. :biglaugh: You get shown up on how terrible your sports knowledge is and you hunker down like *edited: Disagree without insults*

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think the team overachieved last year or this year. Last year, had the season ended after the winning streak, the team would definitely have over-achieved (due to luck and a weak schedule), but I think they largely regressed to the mean by the end of the season.

This year, I think the team is very talented. Inconsistent due to inexperience, but I think their record accurately reflects their ability level. The inconsistency has perhaps led to a few wins in games they "shouldn't" have won and a few losses in games they "shouldn't" have lost.

Yeah, but we don't have Iverson on the roster to trade for Billups ;)

The problem of lack of experience and youth can be solved by time - patience...

Wow. I guess the rules on this site have changed. I would have thought that telling a guy to go kill himself would at least warrant a warning from a moderator, but apparently not.

You haven't watched much basketball have you?

Any team can beat any other team on any given night.

I'm not sorry, but it is the truth.

The Blazers, as constructed and with some baking, will be referred back to from the future as the best team that ever played.

Why the death threats against Mixum? Pretty childish, IMO.

He's a fairly harmless guy, and there's that ignore feature if you don't like his posts.

I see him as the Barney Fife of the board.

All over-reaction, and no action at all.

We honestly don't have much outside of Roy and LA. Oden and Joel are good role players, but I'd say we've actually over-achieved this season. Sure, we have some young talent that will hopefully improve and become much more than they are now (Batum, Bayless, Oden). But as of right now, the roster just isn't that talented. On top of that, it's not like we execute a stellar offense or defense. So the fact that we are 12 games over .500 right now is pretty incredible. Chalk it up to Brandon Roy carrying us to many victories, and our various role players taking turns coming up big.

Is it "good enough" right now to get out of the 1st round? I'd say definitely not. I'd be disappointed if we don't upgrade at SF by the trade deadline.
