As far as I'm concerned everyone mentioned in trade talks is still available. It's the trade deadline tomorrow, we have the most valuable asset at the deadline, a boatload of young players, and plenty of teams looking to dump salary. Listening to trade rumors allows us to see who is available, but not necessarily determine who is an untouchable asset on another team. Just have to wait it out another 25.5 hours.
i know this is tough people, but don't feed into whatever sick game mixum is playing. all he craves is your attention, just say no to mixum.
options are fading with the spurs making a push for jefferson. we could be left with carter or salmons. and with mcgrady out...you know the rockets will make a furious push now. I mean i just dont know that any of these teams could justify taking any deal but ours considering tehy get youth and an amazing contract. maybe KP just is hated among his peers
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are a couple of interesting articles saying a deal for RJ and the Blazers is going to happen or very close: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...F?slug=aw-tradebuzz021709&prov=yhoo&type=lgns The Milwaukee Bucks have told teams their closer to moving Richard Jefferson to the Portland Trail Blazers for a package that includes Travis Outlaw and Raef LaFrentz, one Eastern Conference executive said. http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/nets/archives/2009/02/rj_moving_the_f.html Sources say Jefferson and Luke Ridnour likely are headed from Milwaukee to Portland for a package including Raef LaFrentz' expiring contract and Travis Outlaw, two components that were part of a proposed Nets deal.
I do that deal without blinking. Jefferson has become really underrated on these boards and in general. He brings experience and efficiency to the 3 spot. I like him more than Vince at this point because of their age difference.
From the stats I can access online and the times I've watched him play, I'm not a big Jefferson fan. But the fact that he's still capable of big games and the further fact that Pritchard is certainly evaluating players with his own systems and metrics, which are assuredly more sophisticated than the ones that are publicly available, would still leave me enthused to get him. As things stand, I don't think Jefferson would be a big upgrade. But if Pritchard acquires him, thereby implicitly saying that Jefferson grades out well by his analysis, then that would be new information and would change things. Of course, I'd be most excited by a player who grades out well according to what I can see as well as Pritchard's analysis, but I'll trust his analysis over mine. He's got a lot more resources and spends a whole lot more time on this than I do.
I feel similar, Minstrel. KP really hasn't made a bad move for me to question him right now. So if he feels this was a trade good enough to ship out Raef, then I trust him. But like you, I am not/wasn't a big RJ fan. But he is an upgrade, no denying that I guess.
