Figures. After a nice weekend break from Raptors basketball, I've come back with some energy and enthusiasm for this team once more. I want to see how Marion meshes with this squad. I want to see if Andrea can continue his production until the end of the season. I want to see how Jose and Bosh bounce back from their respective injuries. And I want to see if BC has any moves up his sleeve. Sure I know the season's lost, but fuck it, I've watched more pathetic Raptors' squads over the years. And yet, despite this burgeoning enthusiasm during a season when I really shouldn't have any, its all been evaporated with one fell swoop. I check the Raptors TV schedule and, sure enough, the game's on TSN2. Goddamnit, I hate that channel and I hate everyone associated involved with the decision to overprice such a historically mediocre franchise.

Anyways, for those watching the feeds or lucky enough to have that channel (rich bastards...), it should be interesting to see Marion's debut and another attempt by the Raptors to become fast-paced'ier. We'll probably get our asses handed to us by the Cavs, but who knows. They're not nearly as dominant on the road as they are at home.

Sure, the team will absolutely need Andrea to be productive offensively, what with no semblance of a frontcourt remaining (it's JAWAI TIME!). But the spotlight has to be on these two players. Lebron always kills this team, and while that probably won't change, it'll be interesting to see a passable perimeter defender on him for once. Marion, on the other hand, will be this team's most athletic/explosive dunker since Vince Carter (like Jamario, minus the vagina). His productivity will go hand-in-hand with the Raptors attempts to become even more uptempo.

 

Raptors are gonna win.
