Did they REALLY get a $3.13m exception?

That seems excessive, given it's more than Ike made.

Maybe he added the 25% + 100k that the TPE would allow us to acquire a player the value of?

It's 2.913+ 100k. So Quicker missed on his notes by a significant digit, b/c it should be 3.013M. But he's a professional reporter, and I'm just a dumb fan...what do I know?

Haha. That's a good guess. Doesn't that ignore Ruffin's salary, though?

In any case, I'd guess that number he gave just ain't right.

We get to ignore Ruffin's Salary, b/c from our end we got him with the veteran's minimum exception. So the entire amount of Ike's salary is our exception coming back. 2.192+ million.

Adding the 100k allowed in a trade allows you to get a player making 3.013M back.

    hey

so if Portland doesn't make a move in the next day+, they can potentially add this 2M+ to their previous 6-8M (depending on who's #'s you use) of capspace this offseason bringing the number up to 8-10M just by allowing Frye, Ruffin, and RLEC to come off their cap.

this move makes standing pat through tomorrow all the more likely

It's not totally that simple, STOMP, but 'for all intensive purposes'...:)

KP has always done his best work at the draft. The TE, Blake, and Uncle Paul's cash are all hugely in play there. Not so much here, though if we can spin Channing into a TE also that would be awesome.
