I'm not saying I'd trade him as part of a VC deal, but I wouldn't call him untouchable either. And I'd think long and hard about the VC deal with Rudy.

I agree Rudy is a little overrated but I just wouldn't trade him for an old VC and that huge contract. VC is only going to give us at most a couple years and I doubt we will be in the finals but maybe in a couple years. I just think Rudy has to much value and if your going to trade RLEC and Rudy you need to get someone that can help us for the future when we are ready to compete for championships. Also fuck Thorn and I wouldn't want to give him more then his player is worth.

    Rudy for VC = No.

But for someone like Butler, I think you'd have to do it.

Rudy's not going to be in that deal. If Thorn is going to be holding out for that, this deal is dead.

I agree and would love that trade. I'm not sure KP would do the trade but it depends how much he likes Butler. I love Butler's game and think we would be a much better team.

Knowing that piece of shit Thorn, he would agree to a deal just befire the deadline and then after it passes recind the deal because Raef has a bum shoulder!

The moral to the story is to not trust that piece of shit and have the physical waiver in advance. He pulled that crap on us with SAR, he will do it again.

That's a really good point. I can see him putting his finger in the wind after the deal and then backing out when he is berated. I think Rudy Fernandez would put the deal over the top, however.

Imagine Roy/Carter/Outlaw/LMA/Oden on the floor at the end of a game. Who do you double?

I don't care who they double and don't want VC especially if we give Thorn Rudy which we can trade for a better younger player with RLEC. Fuck Thorn and NJ.

Portland should take Nazr and Wallace. If we can do that while just giving up Raef and pieces, you have to do it.

Who knows, maybe Nazr comes in and produces a little. He had some decent seasons in the past. Maybe he can round back into game shape.

This is kind of what I'm thinking as well. If we could somehow do it without getting rid of Bayless/Rudy/Batum, maybe by giving them picks and the trade exception, we gotta do it. Wouldn't Nazr be able to fill backup PF?

I agree in that Carter is aging, but if I felt that Carter can help this team win a title while he's here, I wouldn't let personal feelings get in the way of making a deal.

of course, wouldn't you rather have roy/rudy/vince/aldridge/oden?

i don't see the blazers trading rudy(or bayless or batum). it would have to be for a very good player who is part of the longterm future. vince fits one of those, but not the other.

Exactly, and the same with batum. For what you get from him...he is dirt cheap. Not worth it. Even if he was on your bench he's still cheap but for a starter he is a complete steal.

No. Rudy hasn't proven crap in the clutch and failed horribly on the one buzzer shot I remember him shooting this season. That doesn't mean I'll bash the guy every day, however.

I think if Oden isn't out to long we probably still make the playoffs without a trade but it would be nice to get a real good SF but worry about our backup PF after trading Outlaw.

The standings right now disagree with you, but I do think a trade getting rid of Outlaw and Sergio with RLEC will be beneficial. Maybe Webster too if coming in is a younger SF.
