    aaarrgh.

Patience is one thing. Not utilizing a valuable asset to better the product is quite another. MB is too in love with our players; I just hope KP isn't

I admire Barret for being such a cheerleader for all of the guys on that team and I truly do believe he likes each of them, but sometimes you just have to strike when the iron is hot.

If it's true that a player like Gerald Wallace/VC/Jefferson/whoever is within your grasp and it isn't going to cost you more than an injured, expensive power forward, and maybe a few backups -- not too mention leaving your core fully intact -- then I hope KP is a little more cold-blooded than MB.

So despite the hundreds of trade rumors involving the Blazers, Barrett doesn't feel there'll be a trade? I expect a trade tomorrow and will be a bit disappointed if one doesn't happen.

MB isn't in charge here... I think it's nice that he doesn't want anyone traded away.
But hopefully KP is more cruel.
Fatten them up, KP, and put them in the oven!
    Bake them!

agreed. You have to admit, Carter on this team on paper looks to be a lock in the post season. Not to mention the heavy load that will be lifted off of Roy's shoulders offensively if he is traded here for scraps.

Agreed with the above. We will not have to give up very much to add a better asset than we'd lose. KP will make a move. MB plays it safe so as not to offend any of the players, by alienating them with trade talks, which is fine, cause he is the one that has to sit next to them on a plane as they travel, and interview them, etc, but KP is all about business. You see him watching the games...the dude doesn't even smile. He's cold blooded, and he would pull the trigger on a helpless child if it made the blazer's better. There is going to be a trade tomorrow morning, and I can't wait to read all about it. :devilwink:

This team needs something else to help them get over the line IMO. if there is no move it's going to be a fight to get into the playoffs.

This team needs a big time second wind.

That being said, If the Front office isn't overly concerned with the playoffs this year and is looking more towards the future, then waiting to make the exact move they want to make in the summer won't be a mistake.

I'd like to see a trade myself. Wallace or Carter. I think it's the right think to do. I'd like to see the playoffs

BUT... cliche alert.... I trust KP and TP <<<< not Terry Porter

Mike Barrett's primary responsibility right now is to keep excitement up about this team. Best way to do that is to keep expectations down when trade deadline and draft days roll around. That way disappointments are minimized and pleasant surprises are maximized.

KP was late to tonights game. He didn't show up in the Blazer hallway til 7:10 pm, and he was walking quick, so you know he was up to something on the phone lines perhaps.

Patience is awesome, and I have it with Bayless, Batum, and most all of the other young guns. I would be fine if this team took another 2-3 years to compete at the highest level to get a chance to get to the finals.

That being said, with the economy in the shitter, not utilizing one of the greatest trading chips in the history of the league would be a failure to me.

I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed posters today.

While I'm sure KP would make a deal if it didn't cost much to improve us, if the deal isn't there he won't force it and that's all MB is saying. If we can do better waiting until this season is over that's the best thing to do. Many will say we could have improved the team and mention various rumors, but that's all they are, we have no idea what is being offered and what's being refused. I trust KP enough to know if there is a good deal he'd take it and if there isn't he won't.

If we do make a trade I hope it's for a defensive player.

I really hope we do something. I saw Darius Miles pushing around Aldridge and Outlaw yesterday and I wonder where the fire and passion is on this team. Call me an oldtimer, but I know Kersey and Buck would never have allowed that, even Terry, Clyde and Cliff Robinson seemed tougher and more intense than almost anybody on the present team. Of course I don't know if that problem would be fixed with any of the names we have been hearing, except maybe Wallace, so maybe I'm just in a pessimistic mood right now. Need some kind of jumpstart. (me and the team).
