Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS Ryan (Portland): After a week of dealing with the Blazers, if a deal doesn't get done does, Pritchard run the risk of hurting their ability to talk to teams in the future. Do they look like they are just collecting information? Chad Ford: (1:01 PM ET ) I think that's a nice way of saving face. They were trying to do a deal. Didn't get what they want. Talked up the value of Raef LaFrentz relentlessly. Then don't do a deal. I love Kevin Pritchard. But all of the deals he's made so far have been low risk/high reward for the Blazers. This was the first time he had to stick his neck out there. Adding Vince Carter or Richard Jefferson was a higher risk scenario. It sounds like he didn't want to roll the dice. TRANSLATION..... HES A FUCKING PUSSY Its quite obvious KP is waaaay overated as a GM and today will prove it. If you cnat move batum for wallace, you simply need your head examined. And im so fucking sick of hearing about what great talent we have. Oden is an injury prone average center, Rudy can shoot threes and thats it, bayless cant shoot, sergio cant even make his own national team, outlaw is about as bad as defnder as there is and aldridge cant even take over a game vs the grizz AT HOME. WHERE IS ALL THIS GREAT TALENT??/ The only one he got right was roy. Its a joke to hear how great he is. Good gms make sure there teams get better, KP just wants lotto picks.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS please lock this. its already in another thread.
1. Our young talent is better than anything Chicago had with the Gordon/Deng/Hinrich show. Roy and Aldridge are both better players than anyone Chicago had at the time. Oden should be better than any of them, too. 2. Our young talent "fits." SG, jump-shooting PF, and main cog at C. Chicago had a PG, a SF, and an elite 6th man without a true position. 3. KP is more competent than Paxson. At least, he has shown himself to be in the past.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS Totally unnecessary. It's not 6 p.m. your time yet but you're already blowing up.
I was referring to the time period between the end of the Blazers' season and July 1. Raef's and Frye's contracts don't end until June 30th. However, I had forgotten that you can't trade an ending contract in that time period, so the bottom line is that you are correct.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS a) Totally Unnecessary. b) Totally Premature. c) Totally Predictable. Mixum, you never disappoint. Yet you always do.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS Well... Ford is basically saying that. He's saying that KP is unwilling to stick his neck out and take a chance and/or that he's too donf of his own players. I'm not sure Ford is right, of course. I also disagree strongly with MIXUM's characterization of the team and its players in his final paragraph Ed O.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS The deadline is actually 3pm Eastern time.
Re: Chad Ford (in so many words being nice) KP HAS NO GUTS I was just going off one of mixum's other countless threads about how trades could come up 2-3 hours after the deadline, and he said when it reaches 6 p.m. his time (he lives in the east) and there's no trade, he'll explode.
