The guy needs a change of scenery, he's not going to win anything in boston. There's so much one man can take.
I really think that is an insane idea.PP has to be bright enough to realize hes the best on the team, and he needs to be there for kids like Oriene Green, and Gerald Green and future incomers. He also knows that his team is really not that bad. They will be much better next year, and they are also starting to build up some chemistry.
the only problem i see is if he goes to another team he may not be the first option that he is accustomed to. i see him staying in the east though.

Melo. seriously, what were you thinking when you posted this? Have you not been noticing the wins lately? I might have taken this post seriously six months ago, but if Paul got moved after a season like this, i would be ballistic, along w/ thousands of other Celtic fans.He is the face of the franchise, and now, when he has finally bought into Doc's sytem, when he supports the youth movement, when he has the best year of his career, we should move him?? Nonsense.Saying the he needs a change of scenery is just ridiculous. He has completely renewed his image in Boston, and he's said multiple times that he loves the city and its fans. He said their is a passion for winning in the city, and he wanted to be a part of that. He said he wants to retire a CELTIC. Sorry, buddy, but things are just now getting started. When Delonte becomes a truly reliable second option, when we get a vet PG, and some defense, this team will be elite.

The only people who need a change of scenery are people who's stayed with that franchise for years and have been loyal and haven't won anything. The only person in your list BCB who should leave is Allen iverson. There's a time where you need to be selfish and think about you're self. Paul pierce has been on the celtics for 8 seasons now. If in the next 2 seasons they don't become a contender then the celtics franchise need to let him go. Paul pierce may say he wants to stay but losing takes it toll. And dogma i'm not aware of what's happening in boston, i don't even watch them. It asked a question and then tried to answer it myslef. All i know is that there 27-35 and are probably going to miss the playoffs.

This year's team has been plagued by injury. They are really much better than their record suggests. First, Marcus Banks and Tony Allen both got injured before the season even started, and Tony still hasn't fully recovered. We missed both of them for 25+ games. In that span, Dan Dickau tore his achilles, out for the season. Delonte has been in and out of the line-up. Then the 4-for-3 trade (really 4-for-1 or 2). That left us very shorthanded (that's when the season-worst losing streak came. Then BOTH Al Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins get injured, leaving us w/ virtually no big men. This happened right as they started coming on. We missed Al for over 3 weeks, and he's still limping. Perk has been out for almost a month now. Wally's even missed a few games.

We really are much better than our record.
Look at how many contenders have been in the league since Paul Pierce came in...only a handfull...Most contending teams cannot afford him and he likes Boston, he should play there because he's still under contract and the Celtics seem to be going somewhere.
Melo your downplaying the Celtics, their actually pretty talented, just young. They need Pierce around so they can have that superstar player needed to win.
How old is pierce? He's turning 29 in october. How long is it going to take the young players to mature? A while i guess.Paul's in his prime now, it would be sad to see a great player like him in his prime going to the lottery.
Well then that's what's going to happen. You don't live in the Boston area and you're not a Celtics fan and clearly you don't understand the situation.

I honestly laughed when I read that reasoning for Pierce leaving Boston. Everyone is excited about this young team we have and I really believe Paul is starting to realize that if he stays here, he could be apart of something really great in the next few years. The chemistry is growing with every game I watch them. Don't judge them by their record and make irrelevant statements. Pierce is comfortable here, he is certainly WELL respected here, he gets to play 40 minutes a night and basically run the team and the c's have some incredible young talent that are getting better each game. If Pierce left, he would be making a HUGE mistake.

Pierce would be the 2nd option on like 4 teams..he would be traded for the other teams 1st option in almost any case.
Only way he's a 2nd option or 3rd on a team are teams like SAS, Detroit, Dallas, Miami, Phoenix. Otherwise I see him staying next year but leaving in the 07 offseason.
