I am not sure this is true all around the world, in Brazil people actually like the US Soccer team.

Whatever, and I didn't start insulting Arsenal you started first. And also I know I'm being an asshole to the American people but I don't really care because they were ignorant and assholes to me when I was over there so this is nothing how I'm acting how they acted at me and my people.

I started it? You're the one coming into this thread and immediately attacking US soccer for no reason.

Yeah she is. I wish they had Luciano Emilio and Moreno on the squad though... Even though that's impossible.

Hey now. You may not want to put the US in the top 30 nations in the world (where they belong at minimum), but FIFA recognizes 207 countries. The least generous assessment that wasn't made by someone spouting off like a child was top 50. So yes...we are better than a lot of countries.

Jaime Moreno has 74 caps for Bolivia, which puts him out. Luciano Emilio is not a US citizen and will be 33 before he's eligible to apply for it, which will be in 2012. He could help if he could become a citizen and wanted to play for the national team before the next World Cup, but by the time he could possibly be an option, he wouldn't be worth it. Altidore will have established himself as the first choice striker and a few other prospects should be ready to go by then.

i was mostly talking about europe and mexico though mexico recently has had to accept the fact that the US team is at least as good as they are.

that of course depends on your definition of "a lot". if you're talking 10, 15, maybe even 20 teams then yeah. i mean the US obviously isn't the best team in the world or anything. but if you don't think they are top 30, that's just not having a clue what you're talking about(generally speaking, not specifically you).

In reality I know this is true, but in my mind I like to lie to myself.

Yeah, I know. It was more of a wish... I think if they were in the squad I would actually be more interested in the American team.

I think the US can match Mexico on some days, but Mexico have so much talent. I'm not saying that in a, "Oh, USA are terrible." way. I'm saying it in a "They actually do have a shit-load of talent compared to England and Brasil."

Yeah, I know they're in the top 30 but I just can't imagine them being in the same league as Brazil, Italy, or France. I know one day I will have to accept it. Actually thinking about it, I have no idea why I am so against the American team. I actually love the country seeing as I pretty much grew up in it, and I am not as anti-America as other English. I believe it's what someone said earlier in this thread: Europeans and South Americans cannot accept America because they do not focus solely on football. That's probably the gist of it.
