Recently the biggest TV channel in Brazil asked the viewers the question: Who was the best? I want to see S2 opinion on the subject. Ronaldo or Romário?
I'm going to have to go with Ronaldo purely because of the awards and accolades he has won. He has two World Cup winner medals, won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year multiple times and has played for many top-class clubs. I don't really know Romário that well so I can't really say anything about him.

Romário was the best pure scorer I ever saw playing. In the words of Johan Cruyff, Romário was the "genius of the goal area". He is one of the few players to surpass the mark of 1000 goals. Anyway, I still think Ronaldo in his prime was the most complete player, he had the perfect blend between strenght and skills. The problem with him was all of the injuries during his career that didn't allow him to have the same consistency Romário had. About the perception of both players here in Brazil, I think Romário is the most "loved" one, althought I think this can change if we wait some more years. My vote is for Ronaldo.
