Taken from the DMN game recap:And yet, there is bad news. The Mavericks' injury woes got worse in the first quarter when Harris, who was off to a rapid start, aggravated his tender left thigh.Harris did not return, and after the game he was walking with a significant limp."It doesn't feel good," Harris said. "There's no telling now [how serious it is]."Harris missed three games with the thigh injury before returning Tuesday against Portland. He is certainly out for tonight's game and likely longer than that.Want more adversity? Griffin left early in the fourth quarter with a strained right hamstring."I felt something pop in there," Griffin said. "I'll wait and see how it feels."Josh Howard sat out his fourth consecutive game with a strained left hamstring. There is a chance he will play tonight against the Kings, but even so, the Mavs could be without three of the 10 players in their primary rotation (Keith Van Horn is out with a knee injury).
Atleast it happend now and not during playoffs. If no one gets hurt between then and now Mavs can be really healthy. We need Powell back from D-League

How about we just rest these guys for the next 2 weeks. And stop rushing them back. It's not worth jeopardizing the playoffs.
Mavs want Harris ready for playoffsJohnson not even sure five weeks are enough to get guard healthy01:00 AM CST on Monday, March 13, 2006By EDDIE SEFKO / Staff WriterSACRAMENTO, Calif. ? The Mavericks took every precaution they could think of with Devin Harris' left thigh injury."Yeah," coach Avery Johnson said, "but I guess it wasn't cautious enough."Harris aggravated the injury Saturday night in Utah, and the problem is serious enough that Johnson's only concern is to have the hard-driving point guard back before the playoffs start. And he's not sure Harris will be full strength by then. But he will be given every chance to recuperate in the five-plus weeks before the postseason."He's our guy who penetrates and gets to the basket," Johnson said. "We definitely don't want any hesitancy there. The goal is to get him as healthy as we can for the playoffs."Harris continued to walk with a limp Sunday. He will have an MRI exam when the team returns to Dallas today. There is no timetable for his return. But the Mavericks don't want a repeat of the injury."We don't know where we went wrong," Johnson said. "We thought the rehab was solid. Casey [Smith, the Mavericks' trainer] does a great job. But we'll just have to take an even slower pace with him next time. We need some more meat on those bones. But that's an off-season project."Just one of many: The injury list is as crowded as it's been all season."It's an infirmary in there right now," Johnson said. "It's just part of the whole process. Some teams have escaped it. Some teams have been bitten by it quite a bit. We're probably somewhere in between."Adrian Griffin missed Sunday's game with a strained left hamstring. He will be re-evaluated before Tuesday's game against Cleveland."I don't know how long it's going to be," Griffin said. "For now, it's just day-to-day."Keith Van Horn remains out with a left knee injury. If that weren't enough, Josh Howard left Sunday's game in the first half with a strained left hamstring.Owner Mark Cuban conferred with the coaching staff after the game and agreed that, pending the results of tests on Harris and Howard today, the Mavericks might try to acquire a free agent to help them through this rough spot.

He needs to bulk up over the summer because he's way too skinny to take the abuse he is driving constantly to the lane.My bet if we sign someone, Wesley Person or Erick Strickland. Person was close to signing with us but we decided on Griff. Strick was here during summer league and is a guard. With guard injuries, he seems more of a fit then Lynch. Another name I wouldn't mind us looking at is Penny.
I actually think losing Harris is a bigger loss than Howard. Harris makes the offense look much easier. He is a hard slashing great drive and kick player. Right now I don't care about that 1 seed as much as getting those 2 players completely healthy at 100%.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Right now I don't care about that 1 seed as much as getting those 2 players completely healthy at 100%.</div>I think 1st seed is not happening, Harris out til playoffs, Howard out a week or 2. Also, it's a hamstring issue which doesn't just heal in a week or 2. That's why he keeps reinjuring it, hamstrings need a lot of time. Both should sit out for the rest of the regular season.I say cut Rawle, we need Powell with Van Horn's injury. I'm leaning towards Person because of his earlier workouts and his ability to shoot the 3. None of our guards other then Terry is a threat from outside.
The mavs are pretty boring to watch without Howard and Harris. This is depressing to see them out for so long. The offense has been stagnant lately and I'm afraid with Terry playing a ton of minutes at the 1 and no Howard it will continue that way.
and dont forget that Terry has had those family problems, so Terry has not been the same. That 3 at the end of the kings game is something he should have made
Yeah but Terry's minutes have sky rocketed now that Harris is back. Terry has to pace himself more and his explosion and energy level has dipped because of it.
Um Harris has been out some time this whole year. It's not something that we ain't used to. Terry has personal issues with his niece dying. It's just bad timing with the injuries.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The mavs are pretty boring to watch without Howard and Harris.</div>How so?
Well they rely so much on jump shots. Our 2 best slashers are gone. It is now becoming more of a half court grind out game rather than some up and down and Stackhouse jacking up terrible shots. The teams 2 best athletes are out. They can still win but it has become a grind fest.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>They can still win but it has become a grind fest.</div>It's been like that all year. We've been grinding out a lot of games. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It is now becoming more of a half court grind out game rather than some up and down</div>Again, we've been trying to play half court games all year and run at times when the opportunity arises. Nothing's changed. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Well they rely so much on jump shots. Our 2 best slashers are gone.</div>How's that translate to boring?
The mavs average 100 points a game. As in the last 2 games they can't even reach 90 points. The offense is looking like the pistons of a few years ago with Carlisle in the last 2 games. Yes we have slowed down a little this year but having Harris and Howard gave us some fast break points with their speed. Now it is non existent.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The mavs average 100 points a game.</div>Just like Spurs have averaged close to that with their half court offense. Same go for Pistons.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As in the last 2 games they can't even reach 90 points.</div>We hit 90 against the Jazz. It doesn't bother me our scoring is down, with key players out and our offense basically made up of isolations. When 2 key guys who can score off the dribble are out, it's bound to happen. As long as we d it up, we'll be fine. Were basically locked up for the playoffs right now, I could care less if we lose some games. I rather have a healthy playoff run.
It's just nice to see, that even though we have struggled in scoring recently, our defense has held up their end of the bargin too. It's starting to show that if we have a bad offensive game, the Mavs play better D, and give them fits as well.
