Celtics lost again to a West opponent and KG had a weird knee injury to his right leg. They said on the radio today they expect him to miss at least 2 weeks. The Lakers might be able to distance themselves in the standings if KG misses an extended period of games.
Rumors are that he has been having problems with that knee for a couple of weeks and that it gave out last night. Probably a ligament strain. The Lakers' should definitely distance themselves. Thrilla, any updates?
Well, Danny Ainge said himself that KG has had a knee issue for a couple weeks, so it isn't a secret. I think he's fine, though. He came on the court at halftime and was moving around, running and jumping with ease. He wanted to come back in, but Doc Rivers and the medical staff shut it down. They are being as careful as possible with him because we obviously cannot afford losing him for the playoffs. That being said, we are like 11-2 or something without him, so I wouldn't get that excited about him missing a few games. Last night's loss was mostly because of Rondo struggling and getting into foul trouble than it was about playing without KG.
Definitely no point in risking it, just sit him 3-5 games or more. A minor ligament strain is nothing to fuck with, just stop playing and do some light rehab.
KG to Miss 2-3 weeks Should be interesting to see how their defense plays against the reborn Suns offense this Sunday.
I think they'll be ok without him, though this should make things a little easier on the Suns. Despite not having KG though, I still can't imagine they let the Suns rattle off 140 again...though it would be hilarious.
