Why did he stop wearing the goggles? He's had eye issues since his rookie season. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more frequently in the NBA. Talk about a major blow to Phoenix.

Did "bad karma" cross anyone else's mind when they heard this news?

Man what a blow, just after the trade deadline too. He was just getting back into a great flow.

He was wearing goggles at the start of the year, he took them off because he thought they were sweaty and uncomfortable.

I also thought bad karma haha. I'm pretty sure he's gonna be sporting the goggles the rest of his career.

Sucks for Amare, Phoenix didn't really have much of a shot though.

Suns are thinking... Aldridge, Varejao or thomas would have sounded good right about now... LOL

Bad blow since they usually rest Shaq and Nash in other games

Should Boston have traded KG because he got injured? I'm hoping Sarver decided to keep Amare for the duration not just until the summer. He's arguable the best PF in the game, there's no on-court reason to trade him especially for non-All-Stars and expiring contracts. He will be back for the Playoffs (and hopefully the next 10 seasons) and don't forget Houston lost McGrady and Phoenix did win 54 games without Amare for an entire season -- this time we have Shaq to anchor the middle, 3 years ago Diaw played center.
