I'm pretty sure this puts the nail in the coffin of the Suns' playoff hopes. They may have looked good again last night, but I just can't see them getting in the playoffs without Amar'e this year.

The Suns still have 2 Hall of Famers in Nash and Shaq, Barbosa will be an All-Star one day, and Richardson is not past his prime. Dallas seems to really be struggling and I wouldn't be shocked if they were that 9th team but if I'm putting money on it I'm picking Houston to fall to 9th and out of the Playoffs, even with McGrady I'd only put them slightly above Dallas, without him I think they're odds-on-favorites to get that spot. Houston also just traded Alston, so they are down their 2 primary ball-handlers, so it's Yao, Artest, Scola & Brooks vs Shaq, Nash, Barbosa, & Richardson -- if I'm Vegas I'm not spending too much time thinking about where to lay the odds, Phoenix has a much better shot in my opinion.

Keep in mind the seperation between 4 and 9 is 3 games, Phoenix only has to finished ahead of 1 of those teams (personally I think #9 will belong to HOU, DAL, PHX, or UTH -- I'm fairly certain POR and NO will make it, but who knows maybe they stumble down the stretch even).

I haven't changed my stance. They'll get in, and get outed in six games, tops.
