IDK why, but i'd want the Mavs. I just would feel the most confident vs. them or the Rockets, but way too many people picked the rockets and I wanted to be different.
I just want to play the Lakers at some point in the playoffs. We are the only team in the West that can beat them and they know it. The odds would be against us, but it would be the beginning of an epic rivalry for the next 5 years.
With injuries factored in, I'd rate the Spurs at least as the co-favorite in the West. Bynum only might be back by the playoffs, but he's likely to be rusty and out of shape. Manu should be back in a few weeks and should be good. Personally I'd rather the PTB avoid both of these teams in the 1st round. I'm also surprised that so many picked Houston as Artest has killed the Blazers the last few years. He does as good a job as anyone guarding Roy and no one matches up well on him on the other end. Give me the Mavs, Suns, Hornets, or the Jazz. I voted for the Jazz because they've done well against them the last couple years, and beating them in the playoffs is what Portland does... like how paper covers rock in ro-sham-bo. STOMP
I don't think the Spurs have a shot this season. At least if they have to play the Lakers anyway. LA owns them.
All of them. I just want to make the playoffs and play whoever we're matched up against. And beat them. One by one. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. It's not about them, it's about us. I'm not trying to be trite. In general, I'd rather beat the toughest team first and get them out of the way and cruise on in, as opposed to meeting the toughest team at the end after getting all banged up and tired out. Although, an alternative argument could be made that due to our youth and inexperience, we maybe could use a little seasoning by getting the easier matchups first, and using our young legs and deep bench to outlast the aging Celtics in the finals. Who the heck knows. I don't. But I'm certain we'll make the playoffs, then anything can happen.
owns would imply that the Spurs never beat LA, yet they're 1-1 this year. The Spurs did lose to the Lakers in 5 games last year, but that was with a severely hobbled Manu. I'll stand by my earlier statement that a healthy Spurs club probably beats LA without Bynum. ...besides, 2009 is an odd year. You know what happened in 2007, 2005 & 2003 right? STOMP
Houston or the Hornets for sure. Hornets I feel we can match up against quite well, and with David West and Tyson Chandler always trying to get reactions out of the team I feel we really get up to play them. Houston I think is another great match up if Oden is healthy because they've got just Artest and Yao, and I can see us winning in 5 against them.
This is like "if you were to have sex with a supermodel, which supermodel would you want"? I can tell you that they are all great. It doesn't really matter that much. barfo
Not Jessica Alba. She said Derek Jeter gave her some strand of gono-syphil-herpa-litis. Or something. STDs remind me of the L*kers. Let's not play them in the first round
I'd second that, but if & when we do, I picked the Suns, I think that Portland would be able to hang with them.
Soo many vote for the rockets... Anyone wanna change their vote!?!? I know that our shots didn't go down tonight, but Houston was looking pretty tough
