Anyone paying attention to him recently?

He put up 23/12 against the Lakers the other night and tonight against the Warriors he grabbed 20 rebounds. I love his energy on the court and his desire to go after every missed shot. He's fairly athletic for his size (7'0, 255lbs) and knows how to finish around the rim. He has a tremendous upside and was a nice 2nd round steal in last year's draft.

I wonder if this opens the door for the Clippers to deal Camby or Kaman when they return from injury.

Him and Eric Gordon have been hot as of late. I didn't understand how a potential lottery pick like Jordan fell all the way down to the 2nd round, I knew he was gonna be a steal.

They have a good young core with Gordon-Jordan-Thornton

It pretty much makes their signing of Baron Davis in the offseason a waste. I've watched Clipper games here and there, and Baron has been a huge disappointment.

Their other acquisition, Marcus Camby, has been putting up monster numbers as well.

I think the Baron signing was a good one still. You can expect him to miss games at some point, but prior to his injury he had the Clippers playing .500 basketball. I don't think any team in the league has suffered the amount of injuries they've had this year. Tonight they only suited up 8 guys, but if everyone comes back healthy the Clippers won't be half bad.

This is just another player I knew would come and bite Minnesota in the rear. We had not one, but two chances to pick him up in the second round!!! But in McFail's infinate front office wisdom (although he's doing a great job as coach). Instead we drafted a European PF who is 3-4 away from being ready (Nikola Pekovic) and then Chalmers and promptly traded him to Miami for two future 2nd rounders?!? And to top it all off the Wolves main needs were (and still are) A center and point!!!! I was happy as hell to see DeAndre's name still on the board for the first pick of the second round....and imagine my horror when I say the name of a player I never heard of and still developing for the next 3-4 years come up.....ugh!!! As it was stated above...Jordan was a fringe lottery pick in a position they needed and passed him up for what?!? And I don't even want to get into my Mario rant!!!!

I'm relatively sure the reason he dropped so low was because of bad workouts. That's usually why people go from potential lottery pick to 2nd round (Chris Taft anyone?)...well, that and bad work ethic, which I'm not really sure how his was in college or high school.

But yea, he was a definite steal for where he fell to in the draft. Hell, he would have been a steal late in the first...getting him in the middle of the 2nd round was even better.

because he has no clue how to play basketball. he's big and an athlete but at this point, that's it. i mean he's shooting 35% from the free throw line.

he's a guy who has potential because if he ever learns to play he already has all the physical tools, but i'd say it's pretty unlikely he ever gets there. that shouldn't stop him from occasionally having a big game though if a team is forced to put him out there for 40 minutes every night.

Well out of high school he was hyped as a potential top-5 pick. But I watched a few Texas A&M games and he REALLY struggled...like bad. Compare him to someone like Greg Oden is his single year of college. While I wasn't surprised he wasn't in the lottery, I was shocked to see him slide to the 2nd round that thought that it really was a great pick.

I think more than anything else it was these international big men that pushed him out of the 1st round (like Ajinca and Ibaka). It's hard to suggest he should have gone above many of the rookies as this was a pretty deep year for talent in the 1st round. I was surprised that someone like Giddens was taken in the first round as opposed to Jordan though.

DeAndre had another big game tonight against the Blazers. Him and Gordon have been the only bright spots this season. DeAndre finished with 15/12 and 3 blocks.

Unfortunately the Clippers lost by 29 points.

do stats really matter when your team is down 22 after the first quarter and never gets back in the game?

For rookies, of course. Any game for young players, no matter up by 22 or down, is good. 15/12 and 3 blocks is the major upside to this 29 point blow out. Kudos to Gordon and Jordan for leading this team.
