They play Boston. Heck, there's no reason to think the Blazer can't just go ahead and take the division. They're playing with a good deal of confidence right now, plus the remaining schedule doesn't appear too bad. I would absolutely LOVE it if our last game of the season - on Tax Day against the Nuggets at home - was for the NW Division! Go Blazers!
And even in the loss column. It wouldn't shock me to see Portland take the lead at some point, but I don't think they can hold it for the remainder. If Portland can take the lead over the next three games, then you never know. It would take Aldridge continuing his inspired play and Oden to come back and just be average.
This is getting amusing at this point. A week form today we could be tied for the 8th spot if we lose the next 4 which is very real. Its like everyone is celebrating cause we won 3 games at home vs crap teams. I mean, it took quite an effort to beat the grizz, a hawks to team who just didnt shoot well, and a clippers team who would get beat down by a top college team IMO. And keep in mind, the clippers were within 2-3 points every qtr after the first. Thats kinda sad. All of you will realize after tuesday and wednesdays game.... we should have a made a major deal. Batum still cant shoot and when you play these upcoming teams, a guy who can make open threes is huge. Thats not batum. Pritchard dropped the ball and we will soon see the effects against GOOD teams. The good news, i wont hera this crap about .... "look we are the 4th seed" .... not much longer with this roster. And um.... we arent pssing denver.... so calm down. If anyone does, it will be utah. They have quality starters not kids who were projected for the dleague. It is still unreal we didnt make a trade.
lol i forgot oden... thats the other news i cant wait to get today. can we do a poll on quicks blog title? sugery or ODEN will MISS the road trip im going for option #2
According to Mike Barrett last night, Greg is on the road trip. Blake being back and looking really solid is a very good thing too. I don't give a shit if it was against the Clippers.
barrett took jay jensons job? wishful thinking on oden. his face says it all. he has that im sorry look again.
So when MB reports on something Nate said, he is taking over as head coach? I'm sure MB is reporting on what he has heard from the team, not on his own evaluation of Oden's knee.
I'd really like to get the 3 slot, as I think it would really be an easier road in the playoffs. Of course, no telling who might move where over the next 6 weeks or so. Just win, baby.
on friday nate said..."Oden doesnt need surgery as of yet" but now hes ready for tuesday lol? i guess the swelling just went away over night. oden is fine lol?
reep, plz don't quote douches . . . my visits here have been much more peaceful since I put said douche on the ignore list . . . you're neutralizing my mixtonite by quoting him
8th spot is guaranteed at this point with Phoenix losing Amare. Portland will finish no lower than 6th. Sorry it's the truth.
Wow, someone just took a gigantic shit on this thread. I love being right in the mix of things. It's sure as hell better than being on the outside looking in. This road trip coming up will be a major test.
They should lose at least twice at home this week - to the Celtics and the Lakers, with a home game against the Hawks sandwiched in between. Passing them is looking like a very real possibility.
In addition to Barrett's comments, this morning's Oregonian reports that Oden is going on the trip. He's still listed as day to day, but it's anticipated that it's likely he'll play at some point on this trip. Sorry to rain on your pessimism parade, but those are the facts.
"He's still listed as day to day, but it's anticipated that it's likely he'll play at some point on this trip." haha something blazer fans have hearing since summer league 07 thats comforting
