http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/02/oden_travels_with_blazers_not.html lets recap.... First, it was a minor injury. Then he was out a few games (maybe 2). Next he was out the homestand and Nate says "as of now he doesnt need surgery. Today Kp sounded less sure on courtside about odens return saying hopefully within a week. Now hes out the 2 biggest road games of our season so far and sounds real iffy for the minny game. $1000 bucks says hes out past SA at home. So i ask is the wonderful and talented KP getting ready to drop the bomb? Maybe he didnt wanna do it after the trade deadline dissapointment.
Kind of expected. Should we really expect anything different from Mr. Glass? He's at least consistent at one thing, other than fouls....
There should be a big button on the front of your computer (if you have a PC). Push it until the screen goes black. And just like that, he's on ignore.
I'm not going to jump on any poster for pointing out that Oden is hardly an iron man at this point of his career. I got ignored by multiple posters for daring to say that Oden isn't ready to be the primary option because you can't depend on him to either stay in the game or be healthy. Gee, I'm so surprised that bumping knees turns into a two-week injury for him. I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt in terms of injury, but there is no reason to do so thus far in his career.
Let's recap... typical of this board, the OP becomes the issues when all he did was point out that the Blazers have a center who misses two weeks because he bumped knees with a much smaller man.
Not to quibble too much but I went ahead and fixed it for you -- Maggette isn't "tall" but the dude is like a 6'7" bowling ball. But, yeah Mixum is certainly entitled to be disappointed, and frankly I'm kind of shocked that something that was described as a 'chip fracture' has taken such a chunk of time to come back from (I sustained the same injury on my own patella 15 years ago as a high school wrestler) that and the fact that he finished the GS game and practiced the next day for the Rookie-Soph challenge. Tough break and hopefully it isn't more serious than the team is letting on ... then again giving out overly optimistic timetables that don't get met would be even more damaging to theirs and Greg's reputations at this point.
