if Greg Oden gets and stays healthy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-090224 I concur.
Boy, he's really going out on a limb there saying the current #3 and #4 seeds in the Western Conference are going to make the playoffs. -Pop
Yeah, but it's nice to have some national affirmation. In the poll, it asks who's not going to make the playoffs, and you can't vote for the Blazers!
I read it as he thinks we're a solid playoff team, who could actually win a first-round playoff series if G.O. is healthy -- not just a team that will probably make the playoffs. Playoffs are going to be sweet this year... I can't wait.
i guess i just dont see it. all those teams mentioned have so much more talent then us. lets see what we do vs good teams tonight.
At the same time, Phoenix finally got that reality check to end the coach honeymoon they were on. They should do better offensivly, but I am not sure if it will be good enough. Lets see how they do against teams that actually fight back, instead of the Clippers twice.
I think it's awesome that we don't have to play the rest of the season. I'm so excited we made the playoffs.
im glad mediorcre man has common sense. its unreal how every thinks a 4 game lead is a lock considering we play houston and SA twice in a week. and we NEVER IN TEXAS... print those tickets....
Why, all of them! That is the only way we can guarantee we made the playoffs! Unfortunately, even after winning out the rest of the season, we still fell a game short of the Lakers for best in the west. On the other hand, we did beat them twice on our way to finishing the season so they are in great fear of us. Gramps...
And we'd be glad if you had some... but I don't think there's too many of us that are still holding out hope that you'll ever find any. Believe it or not, the Blazers are actually in "TEXAS," right now!
That may not sound like much, but it's a big lead considering the time left. Unless you believe that either Portland is going to crash from here on out or Phoenix is going to go on a run like the Lakers, Celtics or Cavaliers are capable of, the chances of Phoenix gaining 4+ games on Portland in about 25 games are extremely small.
Portland is showing signs of coming out of their sort-of-a-slump (5 and 3 is not too bad even though they played pretty bad is some of those games). If they can get back to the level of play they were early in the season I see no reason to believe they won't make the playoffs with or without Oden. Oden's presence may very well impact what seeding Portland has though. If Roy and LA can average over 20 a game a piece for the rest of the season, Portland should make the playoffs easily. I will be the first to admit I was wrong about Blake. For all of his faults, he seems to make the team play better while he is on the floor. I guess that's why I have to buy tickets to games instead of watching them from the bench next to Nate.
