I keep hearing on TV all this stuff about Paul "single-handedly" bringing the Celtics back into the playoff race, but he's not doing it alone. Yeah, he's scoring 30+, but w/o Gomes being so huge, w/o Wally moving the ball, w/o OG playing such good defense, we would've never gotten those wins. This is a team sport, and everyone else should get as much recognition as Paul.

Yeah you do make some good points there...without Gomes's hustling Pierce wouldn't have even had a chance at those shots at the end of the game against Denver. It's easy to say Pierce has single-handidly been winning these games because he's putting up ridiculous numbers (cept for tonight) and he's hitting game winning shots. But you definately are right, the supporting cast has stepped it up. You know what else I have noticed with the abscence of Ricky Davis. Wally compliments Paul a lot better than Ricky Davis does. Ricky needed to take a lot of shots to be productive, Wally doesn't really need to score that much. He moves the ball well, he's a slasher, and he moves around well without the ball in his hands. As much as I loved Ricky, this team is better off without him.

Paul has been the only consistently great player through all the moves over the past few years, which is why he gets all the respect. Others have had their moments, but Paul's always been the man.

Ryan Gomes has really been stepping it up over the past couple games.

It's because paul has been the face of the celtics franchise, the media usually give the face of the team the respect. That's how it is.

That's not what they were saying, they were saying that the Boston media always says that Paul does everything himself and single-handedly wins every game which isn't true. He does far more than any other player obviously but no one can do it all themselves.
