I think it will happen and if it is to happen, it starts with a win tomorrow night. Here's how it goes down: We beat SA, Minnesota, and SA again. Totally doable. That puts us at 38-21. Houston loses to Cleveland and at Chicago (they've been tough lately and Houston's not great on the road) but beats Minnesota. That puts them at 37-23. Denver's slide continues. They either lose at home to Atlanta or on the road against Indiana. In between there, they definitely lose to the Lakers. That puts them at 38-22. San Antonio loses to us twice and Cleveland once. That puts them at 38-20 New Orleans wins three straight against Detroit, Milwaukee, and New Jersey. And thus, as of the night of March 1st , the standings are: 1. Lakers 50-10 2. Spurs 38-20 3. Blazers 38-21 4. Denver 38-22 5. New Orleans 36-12 6. Houston 37-23 That puts us a half game behind San Antonio and we will have won the tie breaker. So that's a month and a half of basketball to pick up one game and we get the #2 seed. Go Blazers! Believe Harder.
You can look at it like that or you can look at it as that's a month and a half San Antonio can pull away again....I don't know about beating San Antonio twice for you guys, that seems like a pretty tough feat.
no that means you need to take less drugs, or put down the red and black kool-aid stay grounded in reality
Kingspeed, you making a thread with the opposite title of a thread you didnt like is lame...just discuss in the previous thread
I'll take home court advantage at this point. I know we'll make the playoffs. But I love the enthusiasm Eric
I either want the 2, 3, 6, or 7. I think we have a chance to win a game or so (or more) against any of the play off teams except the Lakers... we need to avoid that match up as long as possible. I believe they are going to make the play offs and get some experience but I would be shocked if they got out of the first round unless they get home court advantage. We're going to have 3 play off teams from Texas and the Blazers have never won a game in that state (okay, I'm exaggerating... a little). They've got to move up in the standings if they want to take a play off series but I think they'll end up with a lower seed. I'm just excited to see them in the play offs again. But I think this year it's going to be a learning experience/growth opportunity and I hope they get a win or two or three under their belts but don't expect anything more. These guys have never even sniffed post season play and really have no idea about how much the level of intensity increases in play off games. All the other teams have been there/done that. Or maybe they'll surprise me and repeat the 1976/77 story line... I'd be really okay with that too!
