Re: Duncan out tonight I'm not one to wish an injury on an opposing team's player, but on the other hand, I do expect the Blazers to take advantage of this situation. We need a road win.
Re: We BETTER beat the Spurs tonight! I have a feeling he won't play............. or maybe it's the Mexican food!
Re: Duncan out tonight Again I have to say that this is essentially a MUST win for us. If we can't beat a crippled team our confidence will be shot.
Re: Duncan out tonight That might be funny if we didn't currently have a big man on our roster sitting out this game with a knee issue. -Pop
Re: Duncan out tonight I was being sarcastic as posters have said Greg Oden has "pussitis" because he isn't playing.
Re: Duncan out tonight Blake and Webster were cleared to play as well. That worked out well. Smartitis
Tony Parker 66, Dallas 54. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=PERDiem-090225 It's imperative that we shut Parker down tonight.
Re: Duncan out tonight I'm hopeful we'll find a way to win tonight, but if you look at the recent history, there's a certain French point guard who has been the main source of our problems with the Spurs. As long as he's playing, I'm not getting my hopes up for a win. -Pop
Spurs are tough. They almost beat the Nuggets (in Denver, I believe) without Duncan, Manu, or PARKER.
Yes they are. It is because everybody coming off the bench (at least the high amount of players) are all veterans, they don't get rattled, and they pick up their level of play when a major piece goes down. Add in the fact that they are playing at home, and they will have extra energy. Thinking that Portland will win just because Duncan is out is the same kind of thinking that gave the Celtics a loss when Roy was out.
You can give Gregg Poppovich and Jerry Sloan a couple D-League teams and they would still be a tough team to beat.
