Last summer Greg attended a few parties/events at the Playboy mansion purely based on his hyped celebrity. After playing like a fringe starter so far, do you think they'll allow Greg into the Playboy mansion again? Would they invite Samual Delembert? I'm just sayin....
He'd probably injure his dick, tit f'ing one of the playmates, and miss the season! I'm kidding. I actually think Greg is going to be a very good player.
I never have and never will be lucky enough to attend a party at the Playboy mansion. Greg has and probably will again, so I'm gonna keep my mouth shut on this one. found this: http://ridethefastlane.blogspot.com/2008/07/playboy-mansion-and-michael-vartan.html
I almost got into the mansion once for one of their easter parties. my boss used to go all the time...its hard to get in and they're scaling down a bit now that hef's senile. i have a buddy who works marketing for playboy and he hasn't been there yet.
that's one of the things...for as much of a mini-celeb oden is, he just doesn't seem into much in Portland. hopefully he doesn't get all bored and want to move markets later on.....he would seem to thrive more as a celebrity type figure ala Shaq or something.
he performed with justin timberlake at last year's grammys. he's just a marketable guy, kind of a funny personality and good with the cameras. with Portland, he just doesn't have to have that edge....seems odd...i'm actually a bit concerned about this over the long run.
Greg spent last summer in LA I believe.....or a good portion of it. I saw people spot him around, he was chillin with the people from the Hills too. or that might have been the summer before? who the hell knows.
Fez- what makes you put up the photo of Eric Stoltz as Rocky Dennis? I actually played Rocky in several workshops of a musical version written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. Mann & Weil have written hits like "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin," "We Gotta Get Outta This Place," and "Somewhere Out There." Anyway, the show was supposed to go to Broadway but it kept getting delayed. Finally, they did a production of it in Pasadena but I was busy with "Bones." I'm also getting a little too old for it now. It's a pretty great score and I felt a kinship to Rocky. I even got to see his actual denim jacket that he doodled on. And I saw pictures of him. The real guy. Crazy. Made me gasp the first time. And that's what he had to deal with his whole life. People gasping.
Greg is considered a celebrity because he was thought to be a once-in-his-generation franchise center. The next in the line of Wilt, Kareem, Hakeem, and Shaq. But he has turned out to be much less than that. Hopefully, we'll get 13, 13, & 3 down the road but I don't think he'll ever be what people expected him to be and it's disappointing.
If Greg comes out on a nationally televised game against Shaq, Tim, Howard or Yao and destroyes them, does a funny interview afterwards, HE'LL BE FINE!!!! Greg has personality although we haven't seen it since he was drafted, but it's there. He could be a great regular sound bite on ESPN, just needs to get his melon straight! Trust me.... if Oden starts having fun again and stops being star struck by every decent center in the league he'll be a star on and off the court! He needs a shrink and a bowl of Captain Confidence!
He just needs a year of consolidation. After a year off due to injury, he's been working on multiple issues simultaneously. I think he'll be a different player next season. If he's still struggling with injuries and fouls at this time next year, I'll be worried.
Eric Stoltz was in the best scene in Pulp Fiction btw if anyone is unfamiliar with the guy. <div><object width="480" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/k3AGyn0PfYYnDj7PyQ&related=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/k3AGyn0PfYYnDj7PyQ&related=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="405" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always"></embed></object><br /><b><a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x14078_stoltz-pulp-fiction_people">Stoltz Pulp Fiction</a></b><br /><i>Uploaded by <a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/Jumpette">Jumpette</a></i></div>
Why is it that T-Pain and Cher sound exactly the same? Come to think of it, I've never seen the two of them at the same place together. Or perhaps they have that nasty auto-tune installed in their larynx.
