wow this is tough.....pg Bob Cousysg John Havliceksf Larry Birdpf Kevin McHaleC Bill Russell6th man Paul PierceCoach: Red AuerbachIt's so tough to pick 6 guys, they've had so many hall of famers, it's ridiculous, I'm given Paul the 6th man nod because he's turning into a Celtic great....
I'd have to agree with that team, except for having Dave Cowens as the 6th man due to the fact that he was an MVP.

Bill Sharman would be up there too, can't forget him. Probably not higher than Pierce or Cowens though.
There's so many people you could put up there....cowens, heinsohn, jo jo white, parish, ainge, cedric maxwell (nba finals mvp), sam jones, tiny archibald....the list goes on and on and on
Robert Parish is one of the most overrated players ever IMHO, and all of those players are good but not at the level of the aforementioned stars. Also, if we're just going by players that have worn a Celtic's uniform then don't forget Dominique Wilkins and Gary Payton, even though that's kind of cheating
yeah i guess, why is parish overrated though? He played 21 seasons in the NBA and was a double-double machine
He still led the league in point and assists so I think he deserves a mention.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (WELCOMEtotheJUNGLE @ Mar 15 2006, 03:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>yeah i guess, why is parish overrated though? He averaged a double double nearly every season of his career. Benchmarks of consistency make greatness, and from 1957 through 1969 he averaged 15 points and 22+ rebounds PER GAME. 22 rebounds a game is unheard of and amazing. He was the second best rebounder of all time behind Chamberlin. Russell has the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, 31st, and 34th highest rebounding seasons EVER in the NBA. To put up consistency like that on a yearly basis is pretty amazing, and I think if someone averages a double double like that over all of those years is worthy of a top 50 players of all time honor.
