FoxSports.com's Alex Marvez is reporting that Denver signed Correll Buckhalter and JJ Arrington just after midnight....it is not confirmed by another sources yet, but Marvez is rarely wrong.....if it is true, the Broncos have ganked the 1st two free agent defectees of the period....

I like Buckhalter. I guess they wanted Arrington's versatility.

They will all get hurt in Denver. It's a cursed place for RB's lately.

Wow, what a turn around in reputation....Denver used to be the place that unknown RBs went to become stars, now Mamba has them as the place RBs go to get maimed....interesting turn of events....

That is what happens when they are division rivals and go through like 7 starting RB's in the last year. Who was their last extremely productive RB? Mike Anderson? Clinton Portis? (I can't remember if he was before or after Anderson) Tatum Bell had a decent year with them, didn't he?

They had amazing depth at the position even last year at least.

That amazing depth did them jack shit though. They totally blew it down the stretch. They should be focusing on improving that defense more than anything.

Bell went of 1000 yards three years ago, but that is hardly a sign of greatness in a 16 game season....Anderson was there before and after Portis....Portis was the last real star....

Peyton Hillis produced very well for them but got injured against KC late into the year. You can only ask so much from them.

Hillis produced well, but I don't think he was anything close to being a feature back.

He had nice hands and a decent average, I respected his production.

You can respect his average all you want, that doesn't make him an every down back. Team didn't really game plan for him.

    I didn't say he was.

The Broncos create running backs, everyone knows.

I think that is overblown, now. Like beef said, Portis was their last really good RB.

There depth is what impresses me, like in 2005 for example.

right but they still get good production out of running backs that aren't actually good.

Yeah, but these guys aren't the kind of RB's that Denver used to produce.

The Broncos still get good production out of guys that most teams consider afterthoughts....they have not had a true star since Portis, but they are always solid running the football as a team....Buckhalter could be a star in Denver....

You're wrong about that, they just used more of a committee after Clinton left. They were able to recreate Portis' production there for two years after he left, then they kind of dipped off. To lose 6 RBs but still get 1800+ rushing yards last season is a great achievement as a team.
