So it seems like this has been a bad year for the cold/flu. I just got over the worst case that I've had in probably 6 years. Anyone esle get hit by it this year?

I got a really bad cold about five weeks ago, damn thing took me a good week to get over and another two weeks before I finally stopped coughing. It was easily the worst cold I have had since I was a little kid.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Strangely, I never get colds or flu. I'm sure it has happened, but I can't remember having one.

I don't know if you're in the Portland area but from what I've heard in the news this has been an unusually bad year. Sounds like I had pretty much the same thing you did. My cough lasted a good two weeks too.

It's going around the Northeast, as well. Everybody I know, besides me, has had it in the last few weeks. It sucks because people are constantly calling out of work and I'm the one that's always been there to pick up the slack.

My wife forgot to give me the flu shot. I have mostly gotten chest congestions (flem) and stuffy noses this fall/winter. I try to wash my hands after I touch public places (subway door handles, public doorways, etc) when I am about to eat my food. I was much sicker last year than this year.

My wife took an inhaler version of the flu shot while my son and I had the regular shot. She got it and we didn't. Man, this year was a killer--that sucker flattened her for a week.

I used to get colds all the time... stuffed up... coughs... sore throats.. bronchitus etc... etc... at one time they just said I had chronic bronchitus. (Kaiser sucks) Went to my wife's Dr and she said I probably have mold alergies. Sure enough... started taking Zyrtec and it has been years since I have had any problems at all. I still got the flu once... but none of the annoying common cold shit. Seriously... it is like I am immune now. I was so used to the colds I didn't even notice it was abnormal.
