http://www.dailybreeze.com/sports/ci_11805704 I don't think Phil is giving Bynum enough credit offensively, and defensively, that is a major understatement by him. I prefer the offense with Bynum in there, it slows things down and creates more on the perimeter.
any positive out of phils mouth is pretty good if you ask me. anyway, some people are using our recent record without bynum a evidence that we dont need him, well to those people: what about the much more significant absence of bynum in the finals, where we lost to boston by not having a higher level of toughness and defensive stamina. bynum provides this in huge amounts i believe, all you have to do is look at the way in which we beat teams with him than the way we do without him, it is much more effeciant, much more aggressive definsively, and we force low percentage shots onto the opponent, kobe has been going all out, so has gasol and odom, but can we rely on just these three to get us that ever elusive 4th ring for kobe? it didnt work last time, and things on the other side havent changed much at all, bynum will help to contain PPeirce and KGs game's as he provides a solid help defense, plus a good shot blocker is so so valuable in the game, a big swat can change a pace of the game quicker than anything can. as for shuttlesworth, whoever is on him, ariza, odom, sasha, all three are taller than him which i guess might help, but having good backup down low makes a good perimeter defense better, so bynum sure is important to us winning this all. bynum is going to provide that little bit extra which we need to win this championship, all the haters just shut up for now, because we're still playing regular season.
Bynum is our anchor. He is the difference maker. He gives us an advantage over every team in the league, a clear-cut one at that. Without him, we're still fucking good, but Boston can compete with us.
