Do the Eagles even have a capable replacement within the organization? I'm just not familiar enough with their depth chart. Either way I think this is going to be a tough loss to overcome. Everyone focuses in on McNabb leading this team to the NFC Championship game, but the team rallied around Dawkins more than anything. He was a helluva veteran leader and he was still a playmaker despite his age.

I already made a thread about it, letting him go was flat out ridiculous.

I guess the Eagles are counting on second year man Quintin Demps to make great contributions next year. He showed some promise his rookie season, but there is no way he can fill in the void of Brian Dawkins. There is also nobody in free agency to replace Dawkins either. Idiotic move. Eagles just did this to save a couple million in cash because they are cheap bastards.

Wow. It really is annoying to be an Eagles fan, besides signing Asante, they do not spend any $$ on FA's at all. And they're not spending on the DEFENSE'S leader? I really question management's desire to win sometimes. Sure he's 35, but he has a few solid years left in him..
