I want to know where Barrett got the idea that Oden would be back Wednesday.

Next few days is such a conflicting statement because right before that he said it could be some time. Perhaps he will be back Wednesday, perhaps Thursday, perhaps next week.

Equally annoying is the Martell Webster situation. How does a guy miss a whole season just because his ankle is bothering him??

Yeah, I know, but that's quite the stress fracture. It's shelved him for the whole season.

Like AD said Martell doesn't have an ankle injury - he fractured his foot to start the season then refractured it when he came back. You take it slow with foot fractures - that is what screwed up Walton (that and pumping him full of and having him play on it).

Shows what you know. He had a stress fracture in his foot buddy.

Stress fractures can be very tricky things, especially in the somewhat thin metatarsal bones ... the trouble is rates of healing vary widely because the bone isn't broken enough sometimes to trigger a full healing response (like you usually get in a clean break).

If you need a cautionary tale, just look at the way Walton's feet injuries were mishandled back in the day; rushing back too soon probably ruined his career (being a vegetarian with poor nutrition and rail thin probably didn't help either).

It's been my experience that vegetarians are usually healthier than meat-eaters.

If you don't get complete amino acids being a vegetarian is no guarantee of a healthful diet. If I recall Walton wasn't doing it quite right, he was very protein and calcium deficient.

So you're a doctor and know more than the Blazer doctors and training staff?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
It depends on how careful the vegetarian is to get proteins and various vitamins that meats have an abundance of. If that care is taken, a vegetarian diet is fine.

    Bizarro Wolverine?

As for Webster, keep in mind that by most reasonable standards, 6'8" is a pretty big dude. That sort of size places a lot of stress on the bones, which may well affect recovery.

Didn't Martel break a small bone in his foot? What has that have to do with the ankle?

As far as Oden, I think Nate may be simply making sure that all the fucking idiots out there who questioned Greg's heart and work ethic, now realize that the reason he is not playing is because he can't run very well, not because he just "decided not to play yet". Nate maybe over compensating for his previous remarks. He has to realize that most fans hang on every word.

Call me out in person, not like this. From the public record, Oden is cleared by doctors to play by his own words, and he even said he needs to "suck it up" because the end of the year is near.

Why would I call you out in person. That would require tracking everyone's response and actually remembering who said what. I barely recognize your name.

Well, you're the one throwing out "F****G idiot" posts. I've posted about Oden saying his return was up to him. So which "F*****G idiots" were you talking about?

That would be everyone who who is stupid enough to question a man's integrity. There are only two reasons why 99.9% of NBA players would not play due to an injury. Either they can't or they think by playing they would make things worse. Do you think so lowly of Greg that he would let his teammates down like that. You are basically saying to him that he is not a man. It is the worse thing you can say about an athlete. That is idiotic to me.
