Okay, once again, I don't get you. Maher attacks Christianity like it's a foul, pestilent disease, and yet you enjoy his show, even though you have images of Christ all over your post. My head is spinning . . .
You can talk about his smug attitude all you want but he brings up a ton of legitimate information in this documentary. The date of the birth of Christ wasn't determined until 349 AD. A lot of the bible was written by man, human beings. If Sylvia Brown was alive in that era would she be anointed a prophet? Edgar Cayce?
Man contributed to the content of the bible. Moses went on top of a mountain and talked to god and came down with the 10 commandments. These are all just stories. I'm not an atheist but he brought up a lot of great points. Logic speaks much louder to me than what some man/person from that era wrote down.
i don't know how many people take it all so literally. in 1000 years we'll probably have that Geroge Bush went into hand to hand combat and killed Saddam hussein or something.

Watch the movie. He did his research. Senior Priest as the Vatican, Reginald Foster, had similar views; the parting of the red sea, the garden of eden, ect, are "just stories" and "non-sense", and that's coming from someone with a lot of credibility (Foster).

What's Foster have going for him? He's a Catholic from Wisconsin. He teaches Catholicism how I learned it.
