Im not sure hes "getting out of jail"....the only difference between the Redskins and the Lions is that the Redskins buy good players and then turn them into a bad team, while the Lions take bad players and make a bad team....would you rather be on a team whos sum is less than its parts or on a team that is up and coming and may be more than the sum of its parts?
As I understand it, there was a deadline to take action or guarantee a bonus to Dockery....they worked out the deal with the Lions but they were so close to the deadline that they didnt want to take a chance on getting stuck paying the bonus, so they cut him instead, despite having an agreement in place....so they botched the timing....
