And you rank Kirilenko #15 in the entire NBA and he just started in 6 games for Utah and he is averaging 28,7 MPG.

These ratings seem to apply more for fantasy basketball than the real NBA. A guy like Kirilenko is valuable in a standard rotisserie league because he helps you in every statistical category, and doesn't hurt you in any (aside from the injuries.) In the real NBA he doesn't have the same impact.
Since I posted the ratings I had to work on other stuff, but now I'm back to enjoy tonight's Pistons-Nuggets game and to get back to posting. When I posted the ratings a few days ago, I said to myself, "The SportsTwo community will produce a lot of critics; there will be some 'Doubting Thomases." And sure enough... So I am reprinting a very small but important section from my User Guide, the one entitled "Cautions." An alternate title could be "Doubting Thomas Section" Thanks to everyone for all criticisms, some of which lead to tweaks that improve things. Always remember that on the internet criticisms outnumber commendations at least 40 to 1 because it's human nature not to spend valuable internet time posting that you agree with something, whereas everyone likes to criticize, including me. The kobimel post above caused me to realize that another caution paragraph was needed, the one that the ratings are for only the current season, and that player ratings do change more than I suspect most people think from year to year. It was the heavy focus on defense on this forum that drove me to come up with a simple yet accurate defensive adjustment. SportsTwo posters more so than anything else convinced me to do it even though it doubles the production time and technically introduces a very small amount of statistical error, which does not sit well with perfectionists such as myself. However, keep in mind that defensive style is still not rated. Defensive results are rated. To me style is not very important. There are clearly more ways than one to be an effective defender. There are players who are not so great man to man defenders who are nevertheless very good defenders overall, Marcus Camby being probably the most notable example. But defense alone could not lead to a rating as high as Camby's current rating. Camby is higher than you or I expected this season because he is much better offensively this year than he was for the Nuggets last year, and I would assume much better than his career average. The Clippers are desperate for offensive production, and needed to get some from Camby, whereas the Nuggets had plenty of high offensive production players last year, so Camby's offense was not needed much and was crowded out to some extent last year. Also, it seems very likely that Camby has been coached by the Clippers to not take so many long jumpers, whereas the Nuggets last year let him do whatever he felt like as far as I can tell.
