A few sources have reported that Raiders Center Jake Grove agreed to a deal with the Dolphins last night and is scheduled to appear in Davie this morning to sign the deal....assuming it happens, I like this move....hes more physical than Satele, and he would be the favorite to start at C next season, but it also gives Satele a chance to compete at the position or at guard....I love that Parcells focuses on keeping his own young free agents and building the lines, it is the recipe for success in my opinion....
Hes a decent C but I have to agree with the Raiders for letting him walk. That's too much money for the R's to pay him when they have other key needs and a backup C in John Wade who isn't much of a downgrade at all.
I thought Grove kind of sucked personally. I was stoked when they drafted him and touted him as a great lineman. he has been very lackluster to say the least
Ive seen a lot of comments from Raiders fans(who should know) that say Grove is not a physical upgrade over Satele....most of them are saying he struggles with power players and cant stay healthy....I am a bit confused, because all indications are that Parcells loves the guy and thinks hes very physical....I know some of the critical comments are because of sour grapes, but they all cant be....I hope Parcells is right but I cant help but think that for $8m more spread over the 5 years they could have had Jason Brown....
