Re: Bulls beat Rockets, Deng likely Done for year

Is that KC saying "John Salmons is the starter from here on out" and not "John Salmons is the starter because Luol Deng is hurt".

Anyway, the interesting thing in the article is that Deng is still feeling something ain't right and is getting a follow up, outside opinion:

In Deng's defense, he came back after the first injury and played at a high level for a while. His play dropped off, but it was before Salmons arrived, but if he's been feeling this for as long as he said, then there's a reason for the dropoff. I don't see why they are trying to correllate the two other than to sell papers.

    Update

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...9-nba-chi&prov=sportsxchange&type=team_report

“I tried to play (Tuesday in Charlotte). I went out there, warmed up, tried to run and jump. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t run or jump. I had a lot of pain, so I wanted a second opinion and we took another look at it and it showed that there is something there.”—F Luol Deng, on his leg injury, which appears to be the early stages of a stress fracture in his right tibia.

There's this confusing press release confusingly contained in this confusing McGraw blogpost.
So, McGraw's post is titled "Bulls and Deng seem to agree on leg", which, I guess, can mean a couple things. It seems to me they agree now after Deng went out on his own for further testing the Bulls didn't think was necessary. Which might explain some of the weird negative vibe emanating from the team about Deng. Or maybe it just means they "seem" to agree without looking at the hale of somewhat contradictory statements.

I dunno, but I'd be happier if this were made less strange. But then, it wouldn't be how the Bulls do things.

They agree he has a leg and that he's going to be paid well.

Very nice. Deng has quite a few incentives though, right? So he's not going to get paid quite as well. Does anybody have a list of what those incentives were?

Only 19 games left and its looking like Deng is going to get shut down.

    The "core 4".
Deng --- Bad/average, hurt, over paid on a long term deal
Hinrich -- Bad, over paid on a long term deal
Nocioni -- Bad, over paid (thank god he's gone at least)
    Gordon -- Good, not paid.

    Nice work there.

Its sad how much better Salmons looks than Luol Deng.

When was Noc ever part of the "core"?
