Re: Who do we root for? Same as me. It would be horrible going through all the posts - but when something catches my eye and annoys me when multiple people quote it and leave it as is... I do!
Re: Who do we root for? Really? One team has 22 losses, the other 23 losses. I want the team with 23 losses to have 24 losses. For me, it's all about the Blazers making the playoffs at this point.
Re: Who do we root for? like i said, when you lower yourself to ROOTING for other teams you will be disapointed that much more when they lose. i actually found myself wishing the teams like the lakers would win last week and when they don't it's that much more disgusting. how about you spend your time rooting for the blazers and letting everything else fall where it does.
Re: Who do we root for? So your suggestion is that I should have corrected the spelling error when I quoted the post? I'm just not that big of a jerk I guess, and I clearly understood the point mediocre man was making.
Re: Who do we root for? I don't root for any team outside of the Blazers. Do I want certain teams to lose? Almost every night.
Re: Who do we root for? I do not suggest anything (or as Z-Bo would say - nothing). I commented that when I saw a mistake and that mistake was perpetuated via quoting it annoyed me and prompted a response. I did not try to call MM an idiot or slam him for the mistake - just offered what I considered a humorous response to the mistake - especially since the mistake was funny because it was not just a spelling mistake - but one that happened to have an alternate meaning. I am sorry if this annoyed you - but I am glad to see that you posted about something that annoyed you, just as I did about something that annoyed me. Can we now continue with our regularly scheduled programming please?
Re: Who do we root for? We were doing just fine before your interruption that had nothing to do with the thread, Sameer.
Re: Who do we root for? I am sorry. I have obviously detracted from the thread by trying to throw a little humor in it. I will cease and desist from such practices. All business, all the time now, even in the off-season. Thanks for the pep-talk. I will root for all eastern conference teams that do not play the Blazers from now on, I will root for all none-playoffs contenders in the west now when they do not play Portland, I will root for all western conference contenders that I do not think we have any chance of catching when they play other western conference contenders that are not the Blazers. In all other cases I will root against the team closest in standing to us - unless they are both just as close but one in front and one behind - at which point I will root against the ones chasing us.
Phoenix loses, Houston loses, San Antonio loses. Portland wins, Dallas wins, Utah wins. Phoenix starting to lose touch with the playoff race. (Picture courtesy of alex42083.)
So Dallas plays at New Orleans on Thursday? What would be more beneficial, more breathing room between us and 8th or us and this crazy five-team race between 3 and 7?
I'd root against the team higher in the standings (unless it's the Lakers, since they are uncatchable). I think playoffs are essentially in the bag at this point, so now I want the best seeding possible, which means rooting for the higher-ranked teams to lose.
Mavs or Hornets? Gotta go with the Mavs in this one. Both on our heels but Mavs, being further behind winning is less threatening than the Hornets. Either way though isn't bad - at least one of them will lose. Gramps...
Re: Mavs or Hornets? The Mavs are currently further behind us than the Hornets. So I want the road team to win both games tonight.
