maybe Oakland....cant imagine Belicheck would risk that locker room with TO....the "player" has burnt so many bridges, I wonder where his opportunity might come from....hes from Tennessee, maybe the Titans?
Moss and Owens both have damaged reps, but for different reasons....Moss had a rep for not playing 100% all the time, but he was never a guy that was subversive in the locker room....TO will divide any locker room he goes too, its a guarantee....they are different kinds of headaches....
maybe Cincinnati? I dont know, it wont be one of the premium organizations in my opinion....would Minnesota take a huge chance? On a related note, I now think the Cowboys have a legit shot of winning the Super Bowl....
GOOOOOOOOOOOOD RIDDANCE. I was embarassed the boys signed that flake. Jerry Jones needs to stick to signing the checks and stop influencing his GM's personal decisions. Then again if it was the GM who made those trades with Detroit.. well then the Boys need a new GM.
Oakland Raiders was the first team to come to mind. I could see him landing in Baltimore to play with his buddy Ray Lewis.
He pissed that team off a lot when he refused to be traded there. Not sure how many people from that team are still with the organization, though. I honestly don't see too much interest in him. The locker room reasons are obvious. The guy has consistently proven himself to be a destructive and distracting influence. But aside from that, he's also 35 and has shown signs of his age this past season. He's always had inconsistent hands, but there are times when he doesn't get as much separation as he used to (he got shut down by Shawn Springs this season, which I never thought could happen). TO is such a "high risk, high reward" signing, but for most teams the risks far outweigh the rewards. He has to play for a contending team, with a good QB. He needs to have talented supporting WR's who don't have dominant personalities. He has to play with a coach that isn't too much a disciplinarian. And he has to agree to play for a one to two year contracts (even two years might be pushing it). I honestly can't think of any teams that fit those criteria. I'd figure Oakland will sign him simply because Al Davis is the most likely NFL executive to make a nonsensical move.
Good. Hate the guy, and I'm glad he is out of the NFC East. I'm not so sure he is a high reward signing any more, as I don't think he has more than a season or two at 1000 yards left in him.
As long as hes "high reward", he will have interest, but is he still a "high reward" player? I dont even see a "high risk" player, I see an "inevitable trouble" player.....so you have an "inevitable trouble"/"mild reward" player of advancing age....no team with a chance to win should go near him because he does reduce your team to less than the sum of its parts....
In San Fran he said some things I don't approve of, but the rest of his history is overblown to me. I always thought he got too much heat in Philly and Dallas. The Cowboys choked terribly as a team, you can't blame that just on Owens. TO wanted a new contract or to be released, he didn't ask to be on Philly's roster if they didn't want him, and they ran the two minute drill poorly in the Superbowl as well. I'd love to see him sign cheap on my team, just cut him if he really turns out to be a lot of trouble. How freaking sensitive are players today? Walk it off GMs, you can cut the guy the next day if you have to.
