Cassel's arm is underrated. I remember people said the same thing about Brady in his first few years. It's the system that forces them to throw so many short and intermediate passes, not their inabilities. The pass Cassel threw to Moss in the end zone to tie up the Jets game was one of the best passes you'll ever see in the NFL.

Until Cutler learns that he has to actually read defenses and can't just try to rocket every throw he attempts, he'll never be more than a QB with a good arm.

How much of his "gunslinging" is the result of him trying to overcompensate and play from behind because of the Bronco D? Just wondering.

I don't know. But with comments like, "On game day, I have the strongest arm and can make any throw" coming from him, I wouldn't suspect that is a main reason. He's just naturally arrogant.
