We are a jimmy joke on the road. This team doesn't know how to play defense away from the Rose Garden and can't impose their style of play on any legit team in the West.
I know. The Blazers almost ALWAYS "put up a fight" on the road. We get down big but we almost always come back and get within 3 or 4 with a couple minutes to go.
I come on to read the game thread posts and guess we have another fucking troll. I haven't seen our main troll in a while but now we have another poster that doesn't know shit but thinks he does. Fuck this!
Care to elaborate then? The reason KP didn't make a trade at the deadline was because he though the RLEC would be more valuable this summer. With the RLEC off our own books, we are going to be about 6-8 million under the cap and that gives us even more flexibility when making trades this summer. Not to mention the TE we got from Diogu, and Blake and Outlaw's expiring contracts. And teams are going to want to do a deal this summer. During the year some teams think they still have a chance, so players like Caron can become avaliable over the summer. KP said he wouldn't mortgage our future for a better shot this year, and I think we have enough to get into the playoffs this year, and with the cap space this offseason, add another piece at a discount price this offseason that can push us even farther. All we need, and should be the goal this season, is playoff experience. Not trading makes a lot of sense, you just got to take a step back to look at it.
The Nuggets missing open jumpers isn't great defense. And our offense is horrendous in the Pepsi Center.
Nate said a 9 point deficit is "not bad." "We're gonna win the third quarter. Then we're gonna win the 4th quarter."
They weren't open jumpers. We contested them and we took care of the defensive glass, thank you Joel.
Portland had a good chance to win on a back to back road game, as Denver is way overrated at this point, but J.R. Smith getting the start over Dahntay Jones (lol that Jones ever starts) and extra playing time for Smith made it very unlikely. Plus, C Anthony is using your defense to offset some bad games. So even if you keep Billups down, you are likely to lose because both Smith and Anthony are on the loose, which due to Karl hardly ever happens. Oh well, you still have time to finish ahead of the Nuggets. Update: Just saw Nate at the half, he's rallying your players very well, so I guess you still have a chance, but only if Smith or Anthony go cold. You can't win if both Smith and Anthony have great nights.
