There are 3 weak players in our rotation - "stevie" Blake, Sergio and Frye. Now that every game counts we need to play all off them much less. give their minutes to Bayless, Rudy, Batum, Joel and Outlaw.
Fuck Steve Blake. He's an NBA backup. No, we don't really have all that much better of an option right now. I'd rather live with Bayless' rookie mistakes than Blake's I'm an extremely mediocre to below mediocre player mistakes.
Yep, there was no way you could win this, due to Portland being back to back and Carmelo playing like he used to and J.R. Smith getting the start. Here is a small consolation though: you will make up 1/2 a game on these Nuggets tomorrow night. The Nuggets are most likely going to be utterly decimated in Utah against the 9 in a row Jazz tomorrow in a back to back road game of their own. That one could get very, very ugly for these Nugs. Good luck getting a playoff win.
Just not enough in the tank tonight. 2nd on the back-to-back in Denver. The best teams in the league have a hard time winning those games. Anyone who takes tonight's game as an indication of the Blazers "not being good enough" or that "drastic changes need to be made" needs to calm the F down and shut the hell up.
We are SOFT! There is no fight, no toughness...not enough to win on the road. We does our NASTINESS come from? The only one I can think of is Joel. Who is going to intimidate the home team? Who is going to get locked up with someone and shove somebody? On the road...someone has to let the officials know we are here to win...let the other team know we are here to win...let the other coach know...let the crowd know...and so on. Where is it going to come from? We need a bad ass!
You must be thrilled that we lost because it means you get to throw my previous posts in my face and be right. Congratulations! You win. The Blazers lose. You must be so happy.
No. it's not just tonight. the 3 players I mentioned are below average players. In a long season you have to conserve yourself but when it's down to the last 20-or-so games there's no need to play them much. Blake, Sergio and Frye really hurt us. Without them and with Oden Back, we're much stronger.
Yup, I expected a loss, but i can not stand for getting down by 14 or more for the 7th straight road game..simply unacceptable
I was simply being realistic. Didn't expect a win on the 2nd of a BTB on the road against a WC elite team.
Nobody on this board wants the Blazers to lose. People need to see this team w/o rose colored glasses though. We are horrendous on the road and not making any improvements on defense.
This season, we are MUCH better on the road than last season and MUCH better on defense than last season.
That's ridiculous. Win the home games, win the games we're supposed to on the road and we'll be right where we want to be at the end of the regular season. No matter where the wins and losses are coming, everyone else is losing as many games as we are.
Young Team. Plays Great at Home. Struggles on the Road. Sound familiar? Yeah, it's every other good/great team in the history of the NBA when they are young and putting the pieces together. It happened to the Pistons, the Bulls, the Rockets, the late 90s Lakers, the Spurs, etc. etc. etc. When the average age of the team is 28 and they are still doing this, you have a right to bitch. 24? Not so much.
