Darko will get a contract from someone. As a Raptor fan i would take him because I think he does have potential. Good shotblocking and he has range on his jumper.

I always knew he was good at blocking shots, and once he gets the minutes, he will be a force on defense, and people will think twice before underestimating Joe Dumars. I want to see him do very well. One thing I am curious to see unravel is what happens when Fran Vazquez goes to the NBA for Orlando. Two foreign big men and Dwight Howard. I would currently give the nod to Darko, but Fran could be a special player.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MagicManEvan @ Mar 20 2006, 08:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>No.... the thing is that Battie already has proven he can ball and can play well defensively. Darko is good at blocks not defending man on man or in the post too well. For Darko to start, he would have to play many games well on offense and defense. But i dont really see him starting this season. Maybe next season, or maybe not unless Battie gets hurt; Darko is a good backup for dwight.</div>Darko isn't a good man on man defender, but if you look, Ben Wallace is not an overly good man on man defender. His shot blocking presence makes up for it however. A shot blocking presence inside, makes it hard for people to enter the paint and make easy shots around the basket. They will know that waiting on them is a big man that can block shots, or at the least give the other player a hard time making shots. All Darko needs is to bulk up so that he doesnt get pushed around, and then his down low presence will be unreal on defense.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ Mar 21 2006, 01:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Wade, Anthony, Bosh all prove they are stars everytime they play. Darko is far from it.</div>It's hard for Darko to prove that he deserved to be drafted ahead of them, when he never got much playing time in Detroit. If Bosh had gone to that same place, he would have had a hard time getting to play, and we would be saying all of this about him. The time he did get was garbage time in the last three minutes when Detroit was ahead by twenty. Darko still needs time to get into the flow of playing, and figuring out all of the little things he can do. Come next year with more playing time, i believe Darko will earn more minutes.

He never got PT for a reason, he didn't know what the hell he was doing, thats why he didn't play in serbia too. Other than blocking shots he does little else.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One thing I am curious to see unravel is what happens when Fran Vazquez goes to the NBA for Orlando. Darko not knowing what is happening would also be Larry Brown's fault for not teaching him, as well as Darko's for not telling the coach's what he needs to learn. The Pistons knew that they was going to have to work hard on Darko for him to turn into the player they was hoping for. They didn't, and pretty much blew a second overall pick. The Magic are going to put in time on him, and turn him into a better player. So far in the time he is getting, it does seem like blocking shots is all he is doing, but he has shown a couple of bright spots saying that he might turn into a decent player down low shooting, and rebounding.

But even if those guys played on bad teams when they would come off the bench they would do a lot better then Darko has.

I doubt that he actually comes over to the NBA, and if he does, he will definitley get booed by the Magic fans. I 100% guarantee you that.

He was drafted in the first rounf, why would he enter the draft if he is never planning to play in the NBA. I'm guessing he is just working on his game overseas. I'm guessing he will come back but probably not for the Magic.

Tonight, Milicic started and played for 32 minutes inplace of Howard who showed up late for the game. I didn't get to actually see the game, (i never get to see the Magic games until about 3 weeks after they play. My mom tapes the games for me, and mails them to me,) but the box score read 32 mintues played, 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. I like this stat line, it's not a great stat line for 32 minutes, but it's solid numbers for a big man with little time played in the past. This was a better stat line than Battie as he had 31 minutes played 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Milicic is starting to outplay Battie, and i am still thinking will take his spot by next season as the starter.

It's great for the Magic, they have a bright future with Howard and Milicic, they just need to replace the guards they've lost over the last 3 years.

It was great, Darko seemed to have like 7 blocks even though he had 4. We played great defensively and showed Steve Francis that we dont need him to win and that hes washed up.
